I thought my eyes betrayed me but no it's real. I feared the series would never continue but you always deliver when I'm close to giving up hope. *sigh* Guess it's time to re-watch all of the cells at work videos again for the seventh time. CURSE you and your amazing quality content. Anyway love all the content you provide.

Hey it’s educational never ever ever beat yourself for learning and reinforcing knowledge ESPECIALLY when you are getting citation in the form of a doctor telling you what is right and wrong.
I think the "Delirium" part is talking about the cell characters themselves, not the actual human this story is taking place in. I haven't watched this show in a while but if my memory serves me right each episode's name follows the pattern "X, Y and Z" with X and Y being the anatomical/physiological/medical topics the episode covers and Z is related to the characters (the cells) themselves and what they're going through.
An alternate translation of the original Japanese title is "Overwork, Hair Loss, CONFUSION," thus perhaps referring to the immune systems' confusion over what are and are not friendly cells. Love these BTW, Doc! Glad to see a Cells at Work reaction video again!
I’ve missed Cells at Work. Good to see this again
The last part of the ep title (錯乱) can be translated as _confusion, distraction, derangement_ and I'm pretty sure that in this case it means the cells being confused. So Delirium is just inaccurate translation.
CODE BLACK gets SOOOOO GOOOD the more we learn about the sad, broken, salary man all these cells are trying to keep alive.

THIS episode hits me a little bit closer to home. Ever had GBS (Guillain-Barre Syndrome)? I did, over 4 years ago and BOTH of my hands and feet were rendered useless due to my own immune system attacking my own nerve cells. I recovered by now mostly, but the effects still lingers on my right side (hand and leg). I'm right-handed too...

I hope that your right side will get better. You had reacted really fast back then, GBS is a really fast sickness and dangerous!
I really love this series, and your analytical commentary on it; gives me more appreciation for the work that went into the final product 😄
4:39 is it inflamed - it's literally on fire mate 🤨 LMAO I died at that 😂
The delirium bit is a bit misleading but I think it's more of a reference to how the T-cells got confused and went on a rampage.
More anime reactions make us anime fans happy! ☺️

@@DrHopeSickNotes Can I suggest _Young Black Jack_ ? If you have time to watch it that is. It's just 12 episodes.
I hope you continue this. it's one of my favorite things on youtube
Seeing how you got into hot water with these reviews, I'm really happy you're continuing them anyway.
YES! I'm so happy you still uploaded the Cells at Work Code Black episodes, I accepted that you might not do them anymore, but I'm glad you still keep up. I hope you review the rest of Cells at Work season 2 and the rest of Code Black as there are more new cells to discuss about.
I can't believe it, Dr. Hope switched from subs to dubs. How could he do this? :P
I especially prefer this channel's reactions to cells at work because of how informative it is. thank you for risking the strikes to bring us this content ;;
I would say stress is absolutely the cause for me. I lost the majority of my hair as a young teenager, to this day I still have very little hair. The only real cause anyone could tell for it was the stress I was under. I very much doubt if it will ever completely grow back. It makes me sad to watch this and think of my poor hair matrix cells and my overworked T cells. 😭 I went to an all girls school so it wasn't easy, my parents tried everything to help but nothing worked. I went through multiple sessions where a specialist would inject small amounts of steroids directly into my scalp, the hope was that at every injection site the steroids would allow the hair in that one area to grow back. I had hundreds of small injections all over my head. It helped some hair grow for a bit but it didn't last long until my hair fell out again and it didn't work at all when we tried a second time. Eventually I just gave up and resigned myself to having a patchy, mostly bald head. I tried wigs for a time but they were mostly annoying so I've settled for wearing headscarves. Then I get the occasional person randomly approaching me and asking if I have cancer.

Looking forward to next episode covering Cells at Work Code Black 🔬
Always love having the good doc back on this wonderful series. Still using your stuff in homeschool lessons after all this time.
Swapping to the English version has really thrown me for a loop lol
Not familiar with this show but it certainly looks most interesting & your analysis is of course fascinating also! Glad you’re gonna cover the final ‘This Is Going To Hurt” too! And I can’t not say, just when I thought you couldn’t get any more gorgeous / loving the facial hair my friend! Very nice! X
You're back on the series! At last!
Please do another episode!!
There's another show I hope Dr. Hope reacts to which is Healer Girl, especially episode 9. The show is about a new form of medicine by singing and it's used with conventional medicine. It's a bit fantastical in that regard but the characters feels like they are like any medical students and episode 9 in particular is about a surgery and the way disease is visualized is very interesting.
A buddy of mine at school had some form of alopecia. His hair did eventually grow back, but it came back with white patches, it was very strange.
Omg this is like Christmas. Thanks for continuing the series, it’s been my favourite so far. Actually helped with my OSCEs yesterday. Keep up the good work Dr Hope!
It's great that the metaphor for being inflamed works both in Japanese and English because the Japanese word for inflammation (炎症) is literally made up of the kanji for flame+disease. The same kanji for flame is also used in a lot of other diseases that involve inflammation like bronchitis (気管支炎) and pneumonia (肺炎).
@setsu-chon
7 ай бұрын
Ggastritis in Japanese also combines the kanjis for "stomach" and "flame"
as someone with an autoimmune disease this is such an interesting portrayal of it! it's always a little funny to see it in this way and see that physical combat between the cells hahaha
If you can team up with a veterinarian, how about reacting to "Monster Girl Doctor"?
Thanks for this, it's been a while since I've seen this one and having a doctor describe stuff always makes it much better.
So glad you reviewed Cells at Work! Keep it up!
Yes!!!! Cells at work Code Black!!! Awesome!!!!! :D
Loved it and loved seeing you doing another cells at work.
Thank you for the time stamp! It makes watching and rewatching so much more pleasant!
Hi Ed, I've only found your work recently (I was talking about Cells at Work with a friend and while they didn't say which one, they said that a doctor was really enjoying the accuracies of the show). Unfortunately, on June 9th, Billy Kametz, the English voice of neutrophil 1146, passed away of cancer at the age of 35. My other half and I found out just before watching the last episodes of season 2 and I don't want to explain why, but knowing the details about it really changed the ending of the show for us. I thought I would share this to say that you might get bombarded with similar comments in the future and give you the choice to decide how you manage this information. Best wishes and keep safe.
So happy to see the Cells at Work reactions back!! Thanks Dr. Hope!! 😄😄
My KZread just flopped another one of your videos to my channel. I didn't even know you had continued. Nice to see you reacting to this again. which is understandable if there is a delay on your reactions due to work and life. Hope you react to the rest of the episodes soon
OMG! I have been waiting for this! Yes let's go baby!
Thank you so much for your continued analysis, I don't watch CAW myself but love watching your videos about it. ❤️
So thrilled to see this. It had been so long. Keep up the great work!
keep the reviews coming we are enjoying this.
I had wondered if you were going to finish these!! Thank you!!
Yes! More Cells at Work! But this one hits closer to home as I have 2 autoimmune illnesses but still a great episode
I'm so glad that there's a new cells at work reaction video. I love the extra medical information that these bring.
Hey, Doc! Glad to see your still doing well. 😊👋🏻
I was so excited to see this video! I think that the episode was called "Overwork, Hair Loss, and Delirium" because the T-cells were both overworked and (perhaps) experiencing some delirium that caused them to attack the hair matrix cells.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Helper t cells are like the ones in the administrative office of k-12 schools and maybe in colleges
I LITERALLY JUST BINGED WATCHED ALL THE CELLS AT WORK VIDEOS AND NOW HE POSTS! OMG.
Hope is back! Thank you for the new episode!
Love this video!! And the SHIRT😍
Great explanation! Ha ha and love that cat shirt 😎
So great to see you reacting to this show again! It’s kidney stone time, ouch
Thank you for your reaction and explaining :D I hope you are doing okay, and get a lot of rest. stay safe and healthy
I always look forward to these
Man oh man, I was missing your videos yesterday and today I'm treated to this! 😄
I want to see more of your stuff from the main Cells At Work series, because I love it.
Please keep doing this series 💜💜💜
I'm glad to see you continue reacting to Cells At Work.
Hallelujah the doctor is bacccck! Humanity is saved
Dr. Hopeeee!! Yay! Finally! Thank youuuu!
Will you be covering the other episodes of this series? It's great you still watch these! I hope they make a season 2 anime of code black.
Still hoping for more of Code black - and if it interests you S2 of Cells at Work (there's an episode that covers vaccines) Not just health care especially in Black its something of a commentary of a toxic work environment- a Black work environment/ job
Thank you for doing this for such an anime! Hopefully, if you would have time and interest, you could cover the rest of "Cells at Work! Code Black". Thank you!
Yeess new Code Black reaction episode!
I like the T-shirt... want one too.
The last of the manga of the original series was on coronavirus and included a cytokine storm. I’d love to hear your reaction on that.
The pocket! Such a cute distraction!
finally more cells at work!
Loved this. I watch the anime episodes beforehand so that I can check out your reaction and thoughts on it afterwards. Though I'm surprised you didn't do Doctor Who reference with the "Exterminate" mantra :P
I really like your shirt, the cat in the pocket😮
you see, thats what happens when helper t-cell doesnt have his cup of tea, a bit of earl grey and a chocolate digestive to dunk in, he'll be right as rain
The Killer T Cell's were delirious!!
Please more episode of this anime! Congratulations for the channel!💯💯💯💯💯
The return!
It has returned!!!
Yayyyyyyyyy he's back!
Yeah is back!!!
KEEP GOING WITH THIS SERIES!!! Can’t wait for you to get to the reproductive system episode. That, and the liver episode. :)

He already covered both of those episodes if you check out his previous videos.
More cells at work content please
Yes, make another episode of "cells". Or maybe a fantasy one, where you think of some ideas to future episodes (what about they can be)
Isn’t delirium in reference to the Killer T cells and the the actual person the show takes place in?
I think the overwork and delirium parts of this episode did not pertain to the patient/body owner i think it pertained to the helper T cell itself being overworked and getting delirious
@DrHopeSickNotes
2 жыл бұрын
Totally makes sense but it's such a specific medical term I would have avoided using it
@FFKonoko
2 жыл бұрын
Pretty consistent that the show often has it pertain to both. The body is clearly overworking too.
@Sunwolfy
2 жыл бұрын
@@DrHopeSickNotes It was a mis-translation from Japanese to English. The proper term should have been "confusion", not "delirium".
Lol your back finally
Could you talk more about delirium? (what causes it physiologically/biologically, what it looks like when a patient presents, how you treat it) I'm curious now since you mentioned it but didn't get to fully explore it from the cells at work episode.
"One of the symptoms is serious hair loss." *"All* hair loss is serious, David."
thank you for the reaction! Anyway, with a lot more virus and the monkeypox spreading, i hope you make time to take care of yourself too and get a lot of rest :)
I think the "delirium" part is referring to the killer t-cells confusing the hair follicle cells as enemies of the body.
@phdaryl2008
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah
Maybe, it's the helper t-cells that are experiencing the delirium... or it's the beginning of delirium in the next episode?
It’s been way too long man… Hope you continue this.
"it's literally on fire mate" LOL
finally :L) back
Perhaps the 'delirium' refers to sequela from the events of this episode? It is a commonly seen consequence of renal pathologies, (and psychosis may also be caused, or exacerbated, by systemic steroids).
Can you do a Rapid Fight Scene Trauma Diagnosis on the Punisher prison fight in Daredevil season 2?
Not alopecia, but I lost a big chunk of hair due to under eating and possibly over exercising, over a long period of time. It fell out over the course of 4 days and never grew back again.
That Tshirt you’re wearing though.
Hello Doctor! We miss you!
So, Doc, there are several new anime out. One is newer than the other but both might be worth reviewing. The newest one is Parallel World Pharmacy, which seems to spend a little more time in exploring medical science. The other is Drugstore In Another World, which seems more geared toward moe culture.
Might have to check this out! You mentioned delirium and alopecia, could it refer to the blood/urine? I know from personal experience that UTI can cause confusion.
yay, more cells at work. ... dub? >_
