Do you really know the unique history of charming Blockley?

The village of Blockley, located in the north of the Cotswolds, is a quiet, unassuming village that seems to be famous only for being the location of a popular TV series, Father Brown.
This fame draws in thousands of tourists who search for the parish church featured in the TV programs and may miss out on the remarkable history of the village.
At one time, Blockley was ranked in the top 20% of all settlements in England for size and has a significant history of heavy industry.
It has had to reinvent itself on multiple occasions to keep up with a changing world.
Today it's a beautiful, quiet village, steeped in history, where the sounds of a rushing brook is never more than a few steps away, and it is waiting to be discovered once more

It's so sad when these old cotswold villages are turned into private holiday villages for the rich and pushed the young local people out because they can not afford to live there anymore .

I went to a wonderland.i saw a beautiful broccoli with its meadows winding roads and cottages.waters gushing forth.going under the ancient brick bridge, along side the river ,there is way down to walk, the grass and wild green leaves refreshed not only mine but would have thousands of peoples mind,it's as beautiful as a young beautiful girl.So severe in its beauty that it's appalling,an outlandish world ,a place once have had the sight unforgettable,a healthier place,a place to stick in the memory reminding you it's after happy effects

The Domesday Book will doubtless feature in many more future videos. It was a census that William the Conqueror held wherein were recorded not only the people, but all the animals, buildings and implements, so that he could determine the appropriate tax to levy against his new subjects. But it does leave an important historic record for us as it creates a vivid snapshot of life in villages throughout England in 1086.
