The amount of destruction and disruptions to livelihoods is just,...devastating. The week in jail just isn't going to deter any criminal. Sad. The local PD crime maps clearly show just how totally out of control this crime is.

Colby my next-door neighbor just had his cat stolen approx 6 months ago he has a 06 Accord this was after I told him to get a anti theft devise for it and he did not listen some people just dont listen to the pros he just got his new one in and guess what still no cage

Darn it, I have an HRV. Time to research skid plates.

I took my tocama 2021 and 2012 pruis to Tijuana to a muffler shop they installed proteus metal plated with rebar around it. I paid $150 for each car they also painted the cat with a red paint and put my vin number on cat itself. My mom 2002 toyota rav 4 didnt want to pass smog i brought an after market cat on ebay $200 a muffler shop installed it. I took it to a smog shop the smog person didn't tell me anything it pass check light with away. When i order the part it said it was illegal in California it came from Canada.

Thank you for these videos. I have a newer Rav 4 hybrid and was wondering if installing roll bar into the exhaust system would negate any kind of new car warranty? I like the idea of a shield, but it seems like it would need to be custom made, plus very difficult to attach it to anything secure.

It should not, if it did it would only be on the exhaust parts we attach it to. I suppose it’s a measured risk. What’s more likely, you’ll need parts of the exhaust warrantied or the cat will get stolen?

What do recommend for my 2018 RAV4. My RAV4 is not the hybrid model.

I would if I lived in your area. I live in Maryland. Do you know of a shop in my area that has experience in securing a cat converter? It looks like my best choice would be the cat strap.

Are you still doing the piping on the converters? Could you say here what the pricing is for each level?

Thank you for this update video. Wondering if you have seen any Toyota Prius Prime and Rav4 Prime catalytic converters stolen? For my Prius Prime there appears to be a coolant line running along side the cat which I think a thief would want to avoid cutting through lest they get doused with coolant.

Not yet. We are seeing lots of new stuff come in though so keep your guard up. As far as the coolant lines, the gen 3 Prius has these and it hasn’t stopped the thieves on that genre.

You mentioned in an earlier video that you believe a lot of this activity is organized crime. Are they interested in aftermarket converters? In other words, do I have to worry about the new converter (that replaced the original stolen off my Element) being stolen? Thanks!

It’s much less likely it will get stolen. Aftermarket’s don’t recycle at the same dollar level. I wouldn’t let your guard down completely however.

If a Walker cat is used to replace an OEM cat on a SULEV Accord, that means that the vehicle is no longer an SULEV, correct?

No, it’s still a SULEV, the certification of a cat doesn’t change that of the whole vehicle.
