    After having lost my best friend due to cancer (she was just 26 when she passed away) I changed my mind about getting older. I'm happy that I can get to live and experience life instead of suffering, getting sick and passing at young age. Yes, it means that I will get gray hair and start seeing wrinkled at some point, some already now but it also means I'm alive.

    As a 30-year-old woman I am so disheartened by the insane about of focus and scrutiny on woman's appearance. This idea of perfection and looking like a fetus for your entire life is just so sad and out of control. It's really a deep topic and I have a lot of thoughts on it. I am so glad that my early 20s were filled with college, and solo travel that built my confidence more than any amount of cosmetic treatments could ever. I just fear for this younger generation that the repercussions of the current state of society and beauty standards is going to be extremely negative. Don't get me wrong, taking care of yourself and looking your best is powerful and amazing. But it is not the most important thing and it should not consume us

    Funny old creatures, us humans. We’re flawed in so many ways, like wanting to zero in on the flaws of everyone and everything. Oh and if we find someone or something that’s flawless, well we’ll just have to start hating on that too!

    Can we stop with this “beauty standard nonsense.” It’s not because of evil big cosmetics or whatever.. It’s game theory! Women compete with each other so everyone is trying to get an edge because beauty has certain benefits. This will never go away even if there were no advertisements. Women (and men!!) just like to be beautiful because of the things it brings. And even the people who’re moaning about the so called beauty standards will still try to make themselves beautiful by doing their nails, wearing nice clothing, lip stick, earrings, what have you. No one is looking like a tree monster here. So can we stop it with the hypocrisy. Even you don’t wanna look your best, that’s totally fine. But if other people are trying to maximize their looks, that’s fine too.

    Do you think that maybe it may seem like it didn’t exist in past generations because people did not take mental health as seriously so they wouldn’t go to professionals and get diagnosed ? Things like that heavily influences statistics. For the most part women of these generations have a much healthier mindset when it comes to "aging" than previous generations that considered themselves "old" at 30.

  • @staciacrick3373

    @staciacrick3373

    @@alibrasworld I think that Gen Z had too many hover helicopters and overprotective parents. That was a big part in preventing taking risks, experimenting, and internalizing self-confidence and the ability to better emotionally regulate and tolerate emotional discomfort. Gen X explored the world with much less supervision(even though that is problematic, too). Still, I think this helped these people to have less anxiety/depression that comes from increased social and general fears that increase anxiety/depression. I'm a parent of a Gen Z and have noticed they have so many more fears that lead to increased mental health problems. Our culture with all its instant gratification that leads to not practicing emotional discomfort tolerance will lead to mental health problems. Its not rally about the specific problem,, but how one copes, receives support and gains insight that leads to specific outcomes. Genetics is part of this equation, too.

I am generally a nice and happy person but I have a strong "RBF". As a manager and someone who works in retail I was tired of looking angry and unapproachable. I found that the botox helps lift my brows and soften the perma frown I was developing. I use a pretty solid skin care routine and sunscreen everyday. I am noticing less lines and a more positive interactions with people. I got every 4 months and I am loving the results I get. I still look natural and like myself only from 5-10 years ago!

    Hi Dr Idriss, I will turn 40 this October and my cousin is a 55 yr old plastic surgeon, he has been injecting Botox on himself and his wife for the past 15 years and they both look amazing. I decided to have him treat my forehead and frown lines as after so much sun for so many years an no sunscreen , and being so facial expressive, I literally developed a horrible “wi-fi” symbol on my forehead and the lines were sooo deep since my early 30’s. After following your advice, the “wi-fi” did in fact get a lot better, but I “complemented” it with Botox recently and my face now looks even, smooth and better than even in my teens as I suffered from acne; I continue following my skincare routine tailored for my skin type, thanks to you and I love the way my skin continues to improve each morning. ¡Saludos desde México!

    Every cosmetic injector should watch this, reflect and reset their moral compass if necessary. I’m in my 50’s and have taken good care of my skin, using sunscreen since my teens (which was not the norm in the 80’s & 90’s, but I have fair skin and would burn easily otherwise). I think my skin is holding up well. The lines on my forehead are minimal and I don’t have any 11’s. I could have been getting preventative Botox for the past three decades and would have spent a fortune on something that only now am I “needing” to consider. That’s a lot of money saved (and redirected towards sunscreen, retinol and other joys in life 😊). Life is about choices. Thank you for the giving us the power of better choices through the knowledge you share.

    Great message! Just wondering, not to be rude here- weren't there previous videos where you said you weren't doing botox? You even frowned to show that your muscles are still active.. Did I misunderstand something? So, after all you WOULD recommend getting it at around 30 when deeper lines start showing?
