The clown who tried, and failed, to headbutt Keane was out of order and should be banned from the ground. Having said that, Keane was allegedly goading Arsenal fans when he 'thought' Utd had scored the winning goal The whole incident was avoidable.

Like Tyson says people are too used to saying things without being punched in the face. Social media has only exacerbated it and given people the impression that they can say things that they wouldn’t normally say out loud.

Shame that a few idiots spoil our love of football. I’m a Leeds fan but there are many players who played against us that I admired and respected and from many clubs. The best experiences I’ve had is with people who respect your club and you can have a mature conversation. Martin and that famous Arsenal back four were class.

Not about pundits.. But about ex-footballers. I live about 20 minutes from Bristol. Where there is a "rivalry" between Bristol City and Bristol Rovers.. No idea why. They're both shite, and haven't played in the same division since the sinking of the Titanic. But an ex-player of City used to drink in a local pub.. Nice guy. We'd occasionally have a chat.. But sometimes, if Rovers fans were in the pub at the same time, they'd give him stick.. NOT banter. Need to make that distinction... But one day the landlord heard this.. And turned the music off. So everyone in the pub would turn around. And he gave the Rovers fans a bollocking for the ages.. They went a shade of, somewhere between a well done lobster and a beetroot salad.. It's boring.. You're boring.. Shut up. IN THE STADIUM! No problems. Shout, swear, hand signals... Lovely.. But in the real world.. It's pathetic.

It's unfortunate people in the public eye footballers, pundits, film actors, politicians etc can not have a normal life . Myself my wife and friends can walk down the street, go for a meal, go on holiday etc and be left in peace . I was in a restaurant and the ex manager of Oldham Athletic Jimmy Frizzel was having a relaxing meal with his wife and then Mr mouth almighty clocked him went to his table and stood at shoulder and engaged him in conversation for twenty minutes, Jimmy was a gentleman and was very polite and humoured him till he went away but his meal had gone cold and was ruined. Fame has it's drawbacks and recently footballers have to employ minders and security on their homes . Catch 22 position.

it's really weird how most people act when they recognise a footballer or somebody off tv. Joe Hart used to go to a casino in Manchester and I'd see people angling their phone to record videos of him on the sly, which he was clearly aware of. Then if he'd give a disapproving look, or dare to ask them not to record him, then he'd spoken to like he's the one being out of order

Certain pundits like Chris Sutton invite controversy, so it's not surprising in a tribal sport being are going to find them more antagonizing. Most normal 'vanilla' pundits aren't even remotely considered in terms of violence.
