Do you miss the past Elliott?

In this video, Elliott explores the folly of clinging to the past, even during moments of past glory, using his own life journey as an example. He discusses the stages of life, likening them to climbing hills and mountains, and emphasizes the importance of embracing change and growth. Elliott encourages viewers to acknowledge their current stage in life, be it as a warrior, king, or elder, and to understand that each phase offers valuable lessons and opportunities for personal development.

i still think you created the term "being/becoming the best version of yourself", heard it from you a decade + ago, time passed, today i hear it from everyone.

My ex-fiance leaving me was the catalyst for God to bring me to the underworld and reveal His love to me in a profound way. The past 2 years, coming back to the faith, have been massively transformational and I do my very best to no longer live for myself. I seek to serve the Will of the Father, and in doing so, He's abundantly pouring out blessings and favour upon me and showing me my true calling in this life. Praise the Lord.

Lost my job and not long after wife said she wanted to separate. As I'm in my 40's I can relate to that valley. So I'm in my katabasis on the way up that mountain to grab that crown. Lost a lot of weight, in better physical shape than I've been in years. Furthered my education, got a new job. Eyes on the prize.

I sure miss the old Elliot before this religious stuff warped your self development to something that was once an internal progression to one of external expectations, standards, and rigid ideologies. You were freely discovering yourself through many different sources and it was wonderful to be along for the ride. Now it’s a lane with bumpers on the sides.

You trade high views and popularity over inner peace and be the REAL you. That´s a win Elliott. Thanks for your videos. Saludos desde Argentina!

I can relate to this. I used to watch Elliot 10 years ago and prior. He always seemed relatable and gave great advice. I still fall back on some of the things he used to say. I just stumbled onto his videos today after years of not seeing any from him. It always seemed like a better time back then. And im glad Elliot aged like i did. Sometimes you feel like the only one getting older.

Our nostalgia is deep with this channel, and it's a part of growing, but it's because we've grown with you on your journey and yearn to learn it all again.

Dear Elliott, this has been a channel that I have always considered a go to for any man. I have been watching it since you began in the early 2000s. I have always considered you as an older brother, the older brother I never had, "who just told it as it is", and it has been wonderful to watch you change and evolve as a human being, regardless of what some people think or would want you to be. This video is truly eye opening, as it summarises your whole life, its "ups and downs". In many ways, it parallels what has happened to me recently. Over the last two years I had faced a wall that I refused to see, and it affected me in such a way, that the more I refused, the more it destroyed my body. The wall manifested itself into a physical one, so that the more I clashed with it, the more it broke me down, to a point where my doctors were literally begging me to leave this "place" I had put myself in. I was in a wheel chair at one point, with incredible pain, IBS, blind in one eye, asthmatic, with signs of autoimmune disease and almost died at one point. It was life telling me to let go, to let go of the past. Like you I had reached the top in my field of medical science, but I fell into Katabasis, and I refused to reinvent myself. Only now that I have learnt to let go and healed, have I finally seen my acceptance turn into a new and exciting chapter in my life, one in which I look forward to. I am climbing this new peak, a giant one, and like you, using my experiences and knowledge I have gained in the past, I plan to conquer it, and become KING. God Speed my Brother. Sincerely, Carlos

I’m 40 and have been bitch slapped a few times in my 30s. Those were great learning experiences that helped me to adjust, adapt, and change course as best as I can. Slowing down in old age sucks, but it’s just part of life. No sense in lamenting it and bitterly longing for something that will never be.

I use to miss the past but now that I've changed carriers, I look forward to the future. I don't dread Mondays anymore. It's never too late to change jobs and do something totally different and new.

I can resonate with you once again. Glad i found you again as well after all these years. Keep up the great work brother.

Elliot is referring to “dark night of soul” where you encounter the hidden/repressed aspects of your phycology which you either denied or were pushed back in your childhood or early teens.

Yo Elliot, I think it’s awesome you have realistic expectations about the passage of time. Instead of trying in vain to hold onto the glory days, you have set realistic expectations and goals that allow you to experience eudaemonia into old age. I know too many people trying in vain grasping at their youth as their resentments and bitterness grows in their shallow empty lives.
