I’ve been using an iPhone for two years, and I’ve been wanting to get a flip phone/dumb phone for a while now !! I wanted people to know about my experience, so I wrote a book about it. However, the book is only written in Japanese. (My current goal is to publish a translated version!) Unfortunately, smartphones have become mainstream, so I'm very sad that dumbphones are no longer seen. The design is cute And it's good for digital detox. If you're going to have full Android and all the apps anyway, then what is the point of a flip phone? How exactly is this supposed to stop your digital addiction, when it literally does everything your old phone did?

So it may seem a little different from a "complete digital detox". Why do people use foldable phones like this... ① With a foldable phone, there are buttons, so there is a distance between you and the screen. This puts you at a distance from the screen, so you don't have to immerse yourself in the screen. ② Unlike a smartphone, it is a little inconvenient to operate, so even if you have the same apps installed, I feel that you are less dependent on it. @@user-ti6ef7jd3l Ok, that does make sense. I just never personally felt like the buttons were the reason I get sucked into a screen. For me it's more about the content that is calling out to me. I got addicted to the internet as a teen on my Sony T310, which had a tiny screen and buttons.

hi mikan-san! i am the exact same feeling as you! i was sick of being addicted to my smartphone, and i have just ordered this phone from Japan to my country in australia, i had to use a middle forwarding service. i HOPE it works with my network in australia. I am visiting japan and maybe living there with my sickness still, in april or may, would love to meet up with you as you have a similar mindset to me about the phones and being a slave to the phone, i find it exhausting. today at lunch i was talking to my friend across the table, he is on his phone not looking at me, and i am looking at him on his phone.... while we are eating lol ちなみに日本語を勉強しています、楽しいから i hope to hear from you, and i can add you instagram if you want to talk more about this topic!
