I want the world to know about the Japanese book "I Want to Stop Being a Slave to My Smartphone."

Hello!
I'm Mikan, a Japanese writer!
Thank you for always watching my videos.
Today I will introduce my book!
This is a book I wrote,
``I want to stop being a slave to my smartphone.''
This book is based on my actual experience.
I've been addicted to my smartphone for four years since I got my first smartphone.
From the time I woke up in the morning to the time I went to sleep, I kept an eye on my smartphone in the bath, toilet, and even during class.
I was desperate for likes on social media.
When I received fewer likes than my previous post, I felt like I was being rejected.
Because of my desire for approval, I also lied a lot in my social media posts.
I received calls from suspicious people, slander and slander, which had a negative impact on my physical and mental health.
But I couldn't quit because the people around me were also addicted to smartphones, and smartphone addiction is the majority of modern people.
It's peer pressure.
Everyone in the world doesn't see ``smartphone addiction'' as a problem.
No one in the world sees ``smartphone addiction'' as a problem.
Because it's "normal".
However, I realized that being addicted to smartphones is difficult.
I realized that many people have become ``slaves to their smartphones.''
It's not that everyone is ``using a smartphone,'' but rather that they are ``being used by their smartphone.'' It seems that smartphones are dominating and subjugating humans.
Although I noticed that
It's hard to break free from being "the same as everyone else."
People will tell you that you're "weird" or "weird."
There were times when I thought, ``I have to be addicted to my smartphone because everyone else is addicted to it,'' but I realized that for the sake of my mental health, I had to quit using my smartphone.
I was worried, but I decided to switch from my smartphone to a dumbphone (flip phone).
Mental health is very comfortable. It gives you peace of mind.
I'm glad I chose dumbphone.
If I had continued to use my smartphone, it would have become useless. It's horrifying.
I know the fear of smartphone addiction. I also know the importance of digital detox and the benefits of dumbphone.
However, ``smartphone addiction'' is still not considered a problem.
It is disrespected.
That's very scary.
So I want the world to know more about this.
So I wrote a book.
But for now, only the Japanese version is available.
Smartphone addiction is a global problem!
One of my goals is to publish an English version.
I would also like to publish a Chinese version, French, Italian, and German.
I would be happy if you were interested in this book.
I'm sorry, my English is not good
There is no English version of my book, but there are English translations of articles I wrote for Japanese newspapers, and English articles I wrote for the Japan Times, a Japanese English newspaper.
Check them out.

You're english was very good! The book sounds interesting. Im very interested in the idea of using dumbphones, I am 16 years old and for the majority of my life i never used a smartphone. However after getting one for my 15th birthday, i was addicted. I was using my phone for upwards of 6 - 7 hours a day!! It was crazy!!! I now am more mindful and aware of my usage of my smartphone, and am now transitioned to using a dumbphone (specifically a docomo flipphone).

Thank you for your comment. I'm still learning English, but I'm glad you said that. Smartphones are convenient, but I think they can be so convenient that you can become a "slave to your smartphone." Dumbphones aren't as convenient as smartphones, but they are good for your mental health. So you use a dumbphone too! That's great. I hope that this idea becomes more known around the world.

At that time, I made comments to various people because I wanted the world to know about digital detox. However, if I have something to say, instead of commenting on other people's videos, I try to make my own videos, so that's what I'm doing now. The book is only available in Japanese now! So you're from Argentina! Thank you for taking the time to comment. Japan and Argentina are far apart, but I'm honored that we can be connected by this one issue. The negative effects of smartphones, smartphone addiction, are truly serious worldwide. I'm writing a book about smartphone addiction like this. If I own a smartphone and let my guard down, I feel like I'll go back to being a "smartphone slave." That's how addictive it is! It's frightening. But the dangers of this problem aren't seriously discussed...it's being overlooked. I will do my best to educate people about the horror of this problem through videos and books! Thank you for your comment! I would be happy if you would watch my other videos as well.

I think the reason nobody sees smartphone addiction as a problem is because they (we) are addicted. When you are addicted to something you will fool yourself thinking you aren't. Wether it is a smartphone or chocolate or drugs. Even when you are honest with yourself and realise you have an addiction (which is hard to admit in itself), it is still very hard to quit. I've heard more recently from others saying they feel trapped by their phones. And if you ask them if they really want to spend all those hours on the phone they will say no, but they will continue doing it. I'm the same. When I try stop using it, I feel bored and restless. Not stimulated. That is not because doing nothing and being in the present is boring and unstimulating. It's because I'm/we are experiencing withdrawals. Just like you would crave chocolate or drugs when you try stop quitting those things. When you have detoxed and are over the withdrawals, then being in the present, not doing anything, is actually very peaceful and nice. It's not boring at all. It's not stressful. If you wait just feeling, not even thinking about anything (because the conscious is more than thoughts, always thinking is also noise) you will feel at peace. And if you wait your brain will make new and creative thoughts and ideas all on its own. It is very difficult to quit an addiction when you have the thing you are addicted to right in your pocket. The solution is to get rid of the smartphone. I ordered a flip-phone and I'm excited to not scroll on my phone anymore. My brain is always drowned in noise, never a moment of peace. I read somewhere, the solution to an alcoholic is "to take the alcohol out of the house". And I think it's the same if you are a smartphone- or choco-holic :D When you realise you can't control yourself you have to remove the chocolate or smartphone, or whatever else you find yourself addicted to that you want to stop. I hope your book comes in english in the future so I can read it

@@someone-sl3fs thank you! I think that's really true. I hope that more people, like you, can realize that they are addicted to their smartphones, overcome the withdrawal symptoms, and find a sense of freedom. I'm glad I gave up my smartphone. However, the world is still addicted to smartphones. For example, let's say there is a person who is addicted to alcohol. Let that person cure his addiction and live a normal life! That's what I thought... The water coming out of the tap has turned into alcohol! Even the water served at restaurants contains alcohol! Something like that. The current state of smartphone addiction. Digital detox is becoming a hot topic, and I hope that changes soon. I hope my book can help with that. I will do my best to achieve my goal of publishing an English version. Thank you for your comment! Have a good digital detox too.
