I used to do something very similar to get me through college and the early days as a low budget employee about 20 years ago, although I usually stop at the 2:50 mark, and just add a separately fried egg. Only difference is I add tomatoes and crush them when stir frying the onions before adding in the tuna. Very cheap, and very filling.

This is a really great recipe to know. I have my own variation of this that I make in a deep frying pan without baking, so less browning on the top but a nice crunchy rice crust on the bottom. You can put whatever you want/like in the middle. Canned sardines, salmon slices, chicken mayo, chinese sausages, taiwan sausages, spam, ham, minced beef, smoked duck, etc. Can you see now why this recipe is so great?

Looks good! I usually do my pizza with egg in the topping, but i cant seem to solidify the egg in the oven too well (it could be the oven, mine takes a long time, while my mothers oven blazes away and burns foods fast (very critical machine)). Great idea! I thought you were going to make a crust on it, but it ended like my pizza topping. :P Egged.. :) Not too long ago i made brown beans in the pressurecooker. Rice and lintels in another pan. Served it to myself with the rice and lintels at the bottom, and the beans on top. Graded some cheese on top. Added some salt (of course everything was boiled with salt too). It was pretty good. Maybe i will add some sambal, or harissa to the rice next time. Forgot to go to the store, and i got 500 gram of brown beans from my 40kg emergency dried food stock. 20 kg of peas, lentels, and beans, and 20kg of rice. It should last 3 months or so. Your mileage may vary. Got a gas stove in the mail today (BRS-12A). Getting a 3 liter pressure cooker is all you need to cook it all. If you put the dried beans and others in a plastic bottle with water in the morning, it can soak all day untill its dinner time. 0.5 liter bottles were perfect. :) You can easily cary a week of food, you only need to find water. :) Maybe I will make a panpizza video at some time. Pretty succesful, great crust. Eat it all the time. Lazy baking.. Greetings, Jeff

Hi -- Is that a 7oz can of tuna? I live in the U.S. and our canned tuna is smaller but I can find a largish size if i want. Also, how much water did you use for the rice? And finally, you have really good knife skills. Are you trained professionally? Keep these videos coming!

Yes it is more involved to make, multiple cooking too. Not instant dish like made out to be but still I'm gonna try it. Not sure if I'll add nutmeg though, will omit it. I'd rather add a few cloves and a cinnamon stick for flavour and fragrance. And of course garlic and chillies. Yummy 😋

gotta love all the people getting mad or making fun of this recipe having other ingredients. Well of course it wasnt going to be just tuna and rice, that would be nasty. And if you dont have all the ingredients that this lady puts in her recipe then omit certain ingredients or put something else similar. (or put whatever you want)

I followed your recipe for this dish, except I left out the butter and substituted the 120 ml heavy cream with 60 ml almond milk, and added 150 g of sliced mushrooms to the tuna mixture. The changes lowered the calories for the dish by almost 500 calories. The dish was delicious.
