Do You Have An Unrelated Identical Twin? | Full Documentary | Finding The Most Identical Strangers

Subscribe for more: bit.ly/3oNs1Lv
Ever wondered if there's someone out there who looks exactly like you? Well, statistically, it is estimated that for every face there are 7 doppelganger matches around the world.
In this documentary, we follow people as they track down their twin stranger across the globe and meet for the first time. They get to know one another and find out about each other's lives and whether there are any other similarities. While the pairs get to know each other, they are also undergoing a series of tests by the twin-experts at St Thomas' Hospital. These include measuring similarities of facial features using the latest 3D scanning technology, 2D facial recognition analysis and DNA ancestry testing.
The experts then get 100 people to rate the similarities from photos from most alike to least alike. Taking all of the results into consideration, the twin-experts will then reveal which pair is the most identical.

I know I have one living just a few hours from me. My brother's friend (who knows me) took a picture of a woman at a pub who was literally wearing a nearly identical outfit (same colors and style, just not the same brands) and same shape glasses that even had a tint like mine. I thought he had taken a picture of me, but I didn't recognize the place. He said "name of town" and I had not been there that day (I was out of town, just not in that town). Really freaky, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. Edit: She looked just like me regardless of the outfit, that was just the icing on the doppelganger cake. I literally thought it was actually me and friend had been mistaken about the location, nope, definitely couldn't have been me.

In the beginning of the documentary each pair looked pretty similar to me, but the longer I watched it and the more familiar I became with each face, the less similar their faces appeared to me. Once you get familiar with the subtle nuances of a face and a character you notice the differences more than in the beginning when you see the faces for the very first time in your life. By the end of the documentary they all looked like complete strangers to me. But the same thing happens with identical twins to me too. I've met a few twins in real life and at first I could not distinguish them at all, but the more time I spent with them, the less similar they looked to me, and after a few weeks I thought they looked completely different.

I grew up with a pair of identical twins who were my same age, living on my street. We were friends, and when we were like 5, 6ish I couldn't tell them apart. By the time we were around 9 years old, I could tell them apart a lot more easily based on subtle differences in their faces, their voices, their personalities, their mannerisms. They each were color coded, one girl wore pink and the other blue. They had swapped colors on April Fool's, and in the carpool on the way to school, I was so confused since a part of me could sense that each of them were more like the other that day. I kept telling them that, and finally they confided in me they were planning to go to each other's class and pretend to be the other to prank everyone, and asked me to keep it a secret. So you get better with time at telling identical twins apart

I haven’t even watched it I just saw the thumbnail and said those 2 people don’t look lien twins they just look similar, then I watched the first minute ad it quickly went through all the “twins” and paused on all of them and none of them look like identical twins at all to me, they just looks like people with similar features eg, hair colour/style, skin colour, weight/build etc. so I came to the comment to see if anyone thought the same or if I was somehow the crazy one. I feel like I could find 10 people that would fit this documentaries criteria for a doppelgänger just in my city, but give us the whole world and you’ll absolutely find plenty of people that looks similar enough and has similar interests.

Years ago I had two elderly patients who looked identical but had no clue of who the other was. One day I managed to book them in the same hour and while they were waiting in the waiting room, they met each other. I did manage to call them in together and introduced them properly. Well, after some research, they found out that they were indeed identical twins living in the same town but had been separated at birth. Small world.

I found my twin stranger in 1978 while being assigned to the 7th Transportation Group at Fort Eustis, Virginia. At the time I was a US Army Captain assigned there. I was asked to share some exercise plans with a plans officer at the Group Headquarters, a Captain Windam. When I found him, I discovered he was a British Army exchange officer. For some reason, we really hit it off, and after discussing the plans, we got into personal discussions. We seemed to share a lot of personal interests, and we noticed we had similar physical features like height, weight, hair and eye color. Other than wearing different uniforms, we looked very much alike. I asked him his birthday, and it was exactly the same as mine, January 22, 1946. I asked him his full name. It was Ronald Charles Windam and mine was Ronald Coleman Winkles. It was totally amazing the similarities we shared. Many years later while doing genealogy research, I found out my 3rd great grandfather's actual last name should have been Windam instead of Winkles. My 4th great grandfather was actually Solomon Windam who had a son by Maria Winkles. Years later, Solomon recognized his illegitimate son in his will and left him an inheretence.

Back in 2006, there was a bank robber that was my unrelated twin. They caught him, but using drivers license database based on video surveillance and teller descriptions, I came up as the 2nd closest match. 2/7 tellers selected my photo and 5/7 selected his. Out of 11 other witnesses, 5 chose me and 6 chose him. A team of undercover agents for the prosecution followed my every move day and night for 14 days and I was clueless until they came to my workplace to explain everything to me. Then, they showed me some pictures of this other guy and I struggled telling the difference between pictures of us. Some of the photos, I knew that I never took those pictures, so it had to be him. I was paranoid for months after this and felt like everyone was following me. The detectives even told me about instances where they followed me and I bought a homeless man food from McDonalds, told cashiers that they gave me too much cash back and took old clothes and dropped them off at Salvation Army. I never believed that non-related people could look so much alike before this. Heck, I've got a country accent and so did that guy. I'm from KY originally and he was from Tennessee and the robberies took place in Florida.

I worked on a live reality show where our producers found these people and introduced them having never seen each other before. When the two people meet, the look of astonishment on their faces is priceless. We would also have the “twins” come meet out in a public place with a friend and we’d swap them and continue filming secretly to see how far the unknowing friends would keep engaging. Some of them would go on for over a half hour with a weird look on their face like what happened to your voice. As you can imagine this made for great tv.

I had a similar situation. I lost my dad at 14 (54 now); the following year in the summer... I had surgery. I was sitting up in bed in the morning and I was told to walk a bit. I got up only to fall back on the bed because I was seeing my FATHER!!!! Poor man, he was looking at me rather awkwardly and I was horrified AND in disbelief! How could this be? Later that day, my mom came in to see how I was doing and I told her--she dismissed it and said that I missed my dad (which is true) and that I 'thought' I'd seen him. Two days later, she came by early (I would see this man daily, he too had an I.V.) to see me, just then, I looked up and the man and I saw each other and I motioned to my mother... she went PALE!!! I never saw the man again, and I wanted to apologize for giving him a start and explain the why of my reaction. Uncanny.

How strange that 2 of the unrelated twins have almost an exact match of ethnic backgrounds, while 2 of the other unrelated twins could not have more opposite ethnic backgrounds. Love it!!

Sat at table and when the girl and her date arrived she started giving her the riot act. The girl finally said " who are you?". My mother looked at her stunned and said "you have braces". My mother then explained she looked just like me. She even took out a picture and showed her. The girl said oh my gosh. We are identical. Plot twist: That story is a lie perpetrated by a lady who looks just like your mom, but in fact is not; and just like that… she slipped out of your life just as quickly as she slipped in. Her motive: She found Jesus and promised to never tell a lie again, but unfortunately had previously made a pact with satan just months beforehand that her lies must never stop being told, or she will never have a child… and and if she breaks that promise after giving birth 🤰 he will take the child’s soul in addition to already taking hers… 😱

I noticed when growing up that I noticed my specific features on my face that made me feel self-conscious and others that made me feel confident about myself. And each of those recognitions made me act in a certain way based off of how I felt about each one. And so, I think each person who looks alike here probably felt the same thing based off of societal perceptions in their times, since they are all about the same ages. I think it comes down to how society perceives certain body parts and how you respond to those perceptions. And then how you respond to their responses and so on and so forth...and then bam. You’re now 30+ acting the same as someone else who looks just like you because you’ve had very similar experiences from society and its perceptions. I also feel the same way about names and how you feel about your name/the sound of your name and societal perceptions on it.

When I was 14-15, I used to get in trouble because I was seen "playing truant" from school, even when I was provably present. Friends would be angry at me for "blanking them" and "pretending to not know them" when they "saw me in town", when I had been nowhere near. I mean, teachers and close friends and in one or two cases, relatives, claimed to have seen me places where I was not. Supposedly he even dressed the same as me. I never bumped into this doppelganger and I'm glad about it because it would have freaked me out I think. It is fascinating though.

I have a celebrity doppelganger! (Not comfortable saying who yet)🤣......Success is measured in different ways but if money and a mansion is a "Successful version" she is the better version of me then. I'm financially free and happy but my pockets aren't like hers, but I'm content.❤ My self esteem is still intact.🙏🏽 I'm compared to this woman everyday and only because I'm not on social media, I've managed to keep a low profile. Lol However I know people that know her and they are eager for us to meet up. I will eventually see her in person soon 🤞🏼
