In fact more kids in america should be raised like that instead of always saying theyre amazing and getting things like participation trophies. Just sets them up for failure.

That little boy has a narcissist for a father. Narcissists see their children as extensions of themselves. Their love is conditional and based purely on performance. If the child does well, the parent loves them. If not, love is not given and the child is either hated or ignored by the narcissist parent. I feel so sorry for the poor kid. Several of the parents in this video are probably narcissists.

My Dad was an incredible pianist. Had played for some notable singers and even had his own radio show. While he didn’t have Savant Syndrome or Autism he was an accomplished player at an early age. People always used to say he was "born with that talent". His opinion on the matter was that he was "born with the desire to learn the piano, not the ability to play it". I do miss hearing him play. ❤️😷🤘

when the boy said, "I know it flopped." My heart shattered. They're pushing him way too hard, having way too many high expectations while he's just a little boy. Forcing this hobby down his throat from a very young age, planning it before he was even born is not normal. He is his own person, if you're interested in something, never force it on your children. So not supportive, and I consider this mental and emotional abuse. Not healthy nor okay, this boy will grow up lowkey disliking them.

if he would not totally love what he is doing, he would have answered the questions about prodigy and genius differently - that was no indoctrinated answer, he deeply loves it .... still his parents need to take care that he also learns sozial skills by attending enough group activities with kids in his and have a solid general education, even if he does not enjoy it (like most of the kids do not enjoy school) ............. else he will likely struggle a lot tho capitalize from his genius and live a wholesome life as an adult, like so many child geniuses did, lacking sozial skills to maneuver alone through their adult life

But then the parents turn the amazing art girl, into limitless piles of money, & covet their "golden goose", charging insane amounts of money for COPIES [probably limited & numbered to make them rare & increase the value of them, or virtually limitless amounts of them, for perpetual profit], and virtually a king's ransom, for an original. Can you imagine how she could help the world, by raffling off an original? She could buy her own park, & her own house [who's idea was it to buy the expensive new house, exactly? The parents, or hers?], buy medical equipment for a 3rd world country, but her family just seems to be hoarding their "cash cow," and selling the "milk" to the highest bidder only for their own gain.

Telling him he wasn't good enough, neglecting his needs by forcing him to play shows when he's tired - the boy doesn't even look happy playing piano, if anything it seems like he is determined to seek his father's approval. You are suppose to lose in blackjack, break even at best, so any big win, even without proof, they can suspect card counting and that is enough to kick you out, withhold your winning and blackball you in other casinos. House always win. Some card counters make a living off winning in smaller increments weekly. But eventually, the casino will catch up.

@@terrythomas790 she's actually 26 now, and at least from what she writes she is very close to her family. It seems to be one of the few stories that didn't fall apart. The only two times when things kind of went bad was when she lost a finger and thought she would leave art- her mother stepped back and offered her other creative projects like literature and poetry while the family lived in extreme poverty. Despite dad havinging two jobs and mom one. Then the girl started hearing that voice and returned to painting with a fervor and her mom stepped up to promote the girl's art. The second rough time was when they got her an agent to help grow her art. When things went bad and paintings were going missing (including that featured prince of peace painting) the family went to court and went through a long expensive battle to get her out of her contract, then took over the sales and promotion together. That is what opened up her opportunity to maximize her profits. This family was extremely fortunate

You do not associate an emotion with the cards unless it is exciting when you look at them. If there is no emotion your brain decides that it is not necessary to remember, so it just goes straight into your subconscious, your conscious memory does not retain it, you remember it, but it would take hypnosis to retrieve it from your memory bank. If you can associate an emotion with ordinary cards you will improve your game. Because you will not give as many tells. You don't realize that when you look at your cards, other players can tell whether you reacted to them emotionally or not. Unless you're a rock. But even if you are, it is better to either react to the cards or not react to them, every time.

Was given a scholarship to one of the most exclusive science and math schools in the US at 15. She made the decision to return to a regular high school and they had to make special classes for her alone. She spends her school day in study hall because they simply don't have classes to offer her. While other kids are taking algebra, she's already passed college senior level calculus. The downside of this wasn't anticipated. Because she's so extremely bored, she has severe depression and anxiety. I'm proud of her, but I'm terrified for her mental health.

*That's a very inspiration to me.* She lacks even basic sentence structure. I'm sorry, well no I'm not.... I'm going to be judgemental. Just listening to the father speak made me feel uncomfortable. The way he described making prints of the originals, the financial aspect, the room she paints in, it all feels very pushy....and definitely exploitation. The mother gives off an odd vibe as well. I know many artists will have prints made, but it devalues them in the long run.....she has such obvious talent, I wonder if she'd been older and not "advised" by her parents to sell prints if she would have chosen to? I'm not an expert by any means, especially in art, but the artists I know simply do not create prints on a matter of principle for them. An inspired painting is an original.....one of a kind not to be repeated, nor printed on copy. My cousin is a professional artist, I'm not speaking world wide of course, but she's had the talent since a young age and sells on the professional level. She creates art in different types of medium, but the majority are paintings. Her style is a select niche, it definitely doesn't appeal to everyone. But it brings in a pretty good amount of money to live comfortably. Her art may sell from a very small piece at $50 to thousands, depending I guess on what it is. (I have no idea how she decides on what to price her art at) They are rather striking and breathtaking pieces to me. Being brought up practically though she did also get an education and degree, so she holds a regular everyday job as well. Again these are just my opinion and own experience, which is really irrelevant, these children are grown now. I saw a link that said the girl is now 25 and just fine. Whatever fine is? Really subjective.

I know what he means. He's comparing himself to child prodigies that can memorize and play technically challenging music but they have zero feeling for the music. They lack the ability to play the softer emotional parts differently from the heavier, bombastic parts. They play a piece of music without any nuance.

I don't think he understands what "child prodigy" means. A child prodigy IMHO is someone who can do in maybe 1000 hours what it takes others to do in 10,000. It has nothing to d with speed or technique only.

Child prodigy sounds just like the way it looks... A product or label of some sort, stamped on the kid's forehead, limiting him from becoming something more! A dead give away dead-end term, giving to special kids. A Doogie Howser MD for sure, he recognize real quick early in childhood about classification and how that would slow him down! Indeed, he was something more, even special!
