    Not a doctor but from what I've learned, On the roof of your mouth (with a light suction) where your tongue should be the vast majority of time (when you're not talking or eating).

    It is easier to hold one's breath, but I think that practicing breathing while doing this helps the system to learn to breath while the mouth is closed, so that it is habituated for when you're sleeping
