I actually bought my chameleon from PetsMart with a chameleon kit, then went home and watched your videos. Soon I realized I bought everything to ensure he/she would die asap… I felt so bad because I knew I wouldnt have the $$ to keep him safe and happy even if I had returned the kit. It was hard but I returned my chameleon with no refund and wasted about $200 It was worth it because I could never live with killing my pet knowingly. I hope Myron found a good home :( I miss him every day BE FINANCIALLY STABLE BEFORE BUYING A CHAMELEON

You will need a T5 linear UVB bulb and a heat bulb. It would also be a good idea to get a plant LED light to help out your plants. Luckily pothos are a hardy plant. Another problem with fake plants. Is plastic ones can burn off a gas. That isn't good for them also. Wasn't mentioned in video. But heard that from fb group.

How do they burn off gas?

I have been watching your videos and setting up an enclosure for the past couple months, with a plan to buy a veiled at the Breeders Show in Daytona next month. Do you recommend any specific breeders that may be there? Any to avoid?

So sorry to hear about your chameleon. MBD usually happens when they don’t get the correct supplements and UVB so make sure those are good to go :)

We got the Arcadia combo at petsmart it’s a 7% is that ok?

Unfortunately not :( You'll want the T5 HO linear 6%. While it seems like it's only a 1% difference, 7% comes in a completely different fixture and doesn't put off enough UVB. You can find the right UVB bulbs and fixtures on my shopping lists: www.neptunethechameleon.com/shopping-lists

Hello, so I just recently got a baby veiled chameleon at a pet store in my area and I was actually looking at getting a bearded dragon like I've been wanting for a while and fid all my research on them I had bought the repti breeze chameleon medium kit I'm just wondering if the tropical uvb and heat lighting kit is good or what would be a better option that isn't super expensive. Any other tips would help I live in south dakota so I'm not sure if what I have right now is just fine. I'm pretty sure he is a month or two old but also not sure what sex he is either I appreciate any feedback from anyone.

The heat bulb that comes in that kit will be fine but the UVB bulb will need to be replaced ASAP and you'll want to get a larger enclosure soon as your chameleon grows. I have been researching a ton before I buy a chameleon. I have two questions hopefully someone can help me with at night I keep my house at 76 is there a way to control the temperature so it stays below 70 in the enclosure. Also does everyone have separate rooms for there chameleons to guarantee no lights are on at night

Using a portable AC unit can help decrease nighttime temps and things like computer or TV lights on at night should be fine. You just want to avoid overhead lighting. And worst case, you can cover the enclosure with a sheet at night.

@@NeptunetheChameleon If I provide a humidifier for target parameters for day and night since I live in Utah and its very dry. Do I also need to provide a fogger as well.

Also since its so dry where I live is it ok to have the humidifier constantly on to control the humidity. For a little context I will be using a dragon strand hybrid cage.

What fruits do veiled chameleons enjoy that's good for them. I feel bad he's just being fed mealworms and crickets 😢
