Do Not Fear Disasters! - Charles Spurgeon Sermon
Nahum 1:3 The Lord is slow to anger but great in power;
the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished.
His way is in the whirlwind and the storm,
and clouds are the dust of his feet.

Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 January 31, 1892) was a British Reformed Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers." In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times a week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the New Park Street Chapel in London for 38 years. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him after his death.
Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Arguably, no other author, Christian or otherwise, has more material in print than C.H. Spurgeon.

    for 58 years, since my God gave me a new heart (Ezekiel 36, Ephesians 1,2 and John chapter 3) believed in the Lord, the King of Kings...and I find very, very soon, Bible 1st, foremost & always, then all these decades it has been my companions-Spurgeon, Albert N Martin, Calvin, Lloyd-Jones, Puritans...and thank you for this wonderful site...some evidence there are a remnant of true Christians. It is comforting to me (us) when all our lives that we see/know such joy & peace that He brings to us via the Bible and His great messengers. I love this site very much. Thank you. Thank you.

    Pure genius. Finally got around to listening to more. How shameful to be concerned with money instead of the poverty of the church and of the soul. How shameful it is. Is our God our belly or is our God the LORD?

    Someone said (maybe Paul Washer, I don't remember) that today's prosperity preachers are judgement on the people sadly because people don't want God but something else....maybe comfort but not God. Without God, there is no true comfort.

    It does COMFORT my heart. Yesterday I was crying and saying oh I can't wait to meet you. I can't wait to meet you Lord. It is so amazing the wheels of God In the Wheels of God. Over 150 years ago, Charles hope burned in his heart for the appearing. The wheel of time kept turning to add me to the mysterious BODY of the CHURCH. I like Charles am not selfish in desiring His appearing to the exclusion other's. It is just the ardent hope for our Beloved SAVIOR that fuels the flame.

    Much needed. Intellectually, I see a great disaster ahead and have prepared for it to my maximum ability. Yet, how much is prudence and how much is not? I find that now that I have done what I can with all the resources that God has given me that to keep my eyes and focus on the disaster is wrong and shameful and unbelief. Even though it is hard to do so being so aware of it as it slowly unfolds. Even if we could know the future, people don't know what they are asking for when they wish to know. I wish I didn't think I knew. But I must heed this wisdom from Spurgeon. Thank you yet again for another providential sermon at least from this one's perspective.

    Anonie Mous Joseph stored food for 7 years. The Lord warned him of the drout. We are in perilous times now. Just be sure to share what you have. The Lord may be setting you up to be a safe haven for his people. All Glory to God ♡ Ask him how it is to be used. It doesn't have to be an idol.

    Do we ever need these sermons in The Western churches today. Christianity will be no more if the church doesn't repent & get back to fervent prayer & seeking first His Kingdom & righteousness. Judgement begins in the house of God. 💕
