It’s funny how someone is complaining about how he’s using expensive stuff to film this when it states how to make a video the inexpensive way…. When he’s doing the floating clip he’s using a chair instead of cables, forklift, etc. what do people expect? It cost money to make videos nothing is free. Thank you for making these videos for us to watch and learn for FREE. Thank you because most of us on here really appreciate what you do for us.

Well, if the video was called "cheap ways to do cool shots\practical effects" - I'd be with you. But I don't believe you can claim NO BUDGET filmmaking while shooting on a 2.5k blackmagic with a 2k telephoto slapped on. I still enjoy the creativity on display here, just the title is a little misleading.

Well, the thing is that you dont need to do THAT floating clip shot. Part of making low budget films is searching for alternatives. I actually partially agree with you, there is always a minimum cost, but when I put myself in the beginners shoes, I could also say this is no way the more economic budget-quality ratio, so I get those beginners complaining about his budget. Nothing is free, but this is didnt cost the minimum required to get a good quality filmmaking and it must be clear, because if beginners (or even pre-beginners) misunderstand that, is gatekeeping. I know, it isnt maybe a big deal for some, but as someone who has studied filmmaking and now is working in advertising, and also coming from a poor country which also make great films, I needed to say that, I hope I didnt sound rude, and no-one takes it as a personal attack.

People make this same quality films with phones
I've been making videos for 14 years. I've owned three friction arms almost identical to yours for probably 8 years. I use them probably twice a year and never creatively. I couldn't even believe the wildly creative ways you use friction arms when watching you pull off some of these shots for this series. Your mind blows my mind. Keep these coming my friend.
The way you do breakdown videos is so engaging. I love it man, thanks for making these!

@@CoreyWagnerChicago same with me, where he was building it up! Ah mate nice, Sam Dawson came up on my suggestions a few days ago and seen a couple of his, Ali gallop I’ll check out. Some I seem to watch a lot are Scott Cramer, ten hundred, Jake frew, and jessedriftwood. I’d also check out some guy called Corey Wagner. He’s pretty cool 😉
This was really inspirational. On sets, we always try to use professional tools to create these types of shots, but I think I prefer the simplicity and craftiness of your use of what is available to you. I loved it.
So just to be clear you *didn't* do heroine to get the first shot?? I did that part way wrong....

This is so simple yet incredible. The way you explain your shots and the creativity involved. Thank you so much for this video. I've been feeling lost and unmotivated.
When I'm going through a day feeling a bit of lack in motivation and creativity to get some good shots... I now know where to come to for a boost. Absolutely inspiring to see the creativity that goes into these setups!
this is by far the best intro I have ever seen in any videos. Kudos to you brother, You are one of my inspiration.
This was an amazing breakdown. Thanks so much Jake, very inspiring seeing the work it takes to make videos like that.
I wish I could edit like you. The details like the song change and creative shots in the intro really got me thinking about how much time you spend and the effort you put in on each edit.

You're a magician, dude! Love your videos, originality, and storytelling technique - I don't think there's anyone that comes close to you. You could totally put all your knowledge into a paid course, but I appreciate all the free knowledge you're sharing with us

awesome stuff man, really love that floating shot and that telephoto skating shot is sick!
this was actually useful. I watched multiple videos where it says no budget, but they show off gears and do some complicated settings, except they didnt unlock that type of out of the box thinking as you did. Looking forward to your next videos :)
