I am super interested in getting the Daysy or something similar and the app you mentioned sounds really interesting. Currently I am pregnant but once the baby comes and my cycles start again I have no interest in going on hormonal birth control ever again. I felt so much better once I stopped using it prior to getting pregnant and will now commit to charting my cycles as my form of birth control. Your videos have been super helpful and inspiring, thank you for all you do!

I´m charting my cycle old style with a pen and paper charts. Right now it´s more a period of learning how my body works and how my cycles are. If I get into a new relationship I plan to get a daisy. Never heard of the app before, thanks Victoria for introducing!

I'm currently using birth control pills, specifically a single-level hormone pill. I'm very interested in a more natural method especially since between my birth control and antidepressants my libido is completely gone. And let's be honest, that's not really fair to myself or my husband. I'm planning to purchase the Daysy, and after discussing it with my husband he's completely on board with it.

I use the Lady comp and the Kandara app. It is so easy!! I love the detail that I can plug into the kindara app but I love that if I forget to put in the charting information to the kindara app I can rely on Lady comp to tell my just like you said yay or nay. I am so busy with being a nurse and my business that if I can’t take a few minutes to plug in everything on the kindara app I at least have the security of the lady comp. I also use the caya diaphragm with the pull out method on my red and yellow days it’s not 100% foul proof protection but it’s better then nothing.

Interesting channel. I'm currently researching non-hormonal bc options after beginning the pill (Lyleq) once again 3 months ago and now experiencing breakthrough bleeding throughout this entire month. Ugh. I hate bc pills -- been there and done enough of that over the years. Sick of them all. The worst bc method I ever tried was the Depo Provera shot in my late teen years -- the weight gain proved intense. In the past I've also been on Ortho Tricyclene and Apri bc pills, as well as a non-hormonal IUD (Paragard). Now in my 40s, I'd really love to be free from added hormones. I saw your video about the Natural Cycles app and am looking into it as well. Thanks for the info.

But I'm finally comfortable with trachking my cycles and I don't think I will ever go back to hormones

Thank you for your videos, they're great!!! I just have one question: how can the Daysy be secure if it only measures your temperature? Does it rely on previous cycles? I just read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and the author makes clear that you can't just rely on one "method", in this case temperature. And also, does the Daysy show the temperature on the device? Or how do you combine it with the App? Thank you!!!

I wanted to add that with the Daysy you don't have to temp at a certain time of day, unlike with FAM (which I use right now) which has to be done at the same time of day. I wake a lot, and so although I've been using Kindara for nearly a year and love the knowledge about my body it has given me, I need a way to temp that doesn't require sleep that I don't get to be had at rigid times of the day :( Thinking of trying this because of that. If anyone has any insights on the Daysy in light of this and your experience I would be very happy to read them :)

I am super interested in getting the Daysy or the Lady Comp, but right now I am getting the Depo shot (worst decision ever) and it makes my cycle so weird, I dont get my period for the first two months of the shot and then get my period for two weeks to a full month. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is best to just stop the shot and not use hormonal birth control until my body gets regular again, or if I should take the pill for a few months to get a regular cycle again before starting temperature charting? I have a boyfriend so I need the security of having a form of birth control.

  • @__phoebe.taylor

    @__phoebe.taylor

    5 жыл бұрын

not sure if you are still looking for a reply, but I was on the depo for two years and the same thing happened to me. the shot would make me not bleed for a month or two and then I would bleed until I got my next one. I once had my period / spotted for 52 days straight. I had taken multiple types of the pill before switching the depo, and they all gave me horrible migraines, depression, and nausea to the point where I didn't want to eat. Because of that experience, I swore of hormonal birth control and therefore didn't take any type after stoping the depo. My periods gradually went back to normal within a few months! So I would definitely suggest not using another form of hormonal birth control after going off the depo, as your cycle should return to normal on its own. I realize this reply is super late, but I related to this comment a lot so I wanted to help you or anyone else who can relate!

I’m 15 month pp with confusing daily cm and no cycle while bf.. Also is the paid kindara app preferred or is the free version just as good with bbt? Daysy, wink or ladycomp? I like the lazy light. Do they allow for paper charting or do you need an app linked?

I’ve been on birth control pills (currently Tri-Sprintec) for approx 16 years at this point. I do not want children and am in a committed long term relationship of almost the same length of time that I’ve been taking BCP. Recently having problems with hypothyroidism, copper levels too high and zinc too low- this all (I think) contributing to hair loss. My doc suggested Daysy as an alternative to the pill since maybe it’s throwing all my stuff out of whack after being on it this long. I am just so paranoid about getting pregnant though and the pill has worked all this time for that. I’d be interested to know the percentage of women who conceived after intercourse on a green day. Accidental pregnancy really isn’t an option for me; I would need to have an abortion if that happened so I am very apprehensive to try this device.

Pretty sure you can do what she's doing with any app that's similar. I believe she uses Kindara because to my knowledge I think it is one of the more detailed apps. As she said, she wants to track cervical fluid and sleep patterns and not many apps let you track all of these things.

Hi Victoria! I really enjoy your videos :) I've been on the pill for a little bit over 3 years only for the purpose of contraception. I always had a highly regular cycle, little to no cramps, and a pretty mild flow before the pill. I've had to use 3 different brands because I would experience irregular bleeding and I have been experiencing the worst cramps of my life with all 3 of brands :'( So, I finally decided to go off the pill! I'm still taking it, but I'm going to stop once I decide on a fertility monitor :) So I said all that to say, would you be able to review Kindara's fertility monitor called "Wink" ;)? I'm trying to decide between Wink and Daysy and I'm having trouble making a decision!

They are different devices! the wink is a thermometer only. It's main feature is taking the temperature and synchronizing automatically with the app kindara. With wink you still have to follow FAM rules, i.e., observing cervical mucus and look for a temperature shift to confirm ovulation. You have to measure the temperature everyday at the same time to have accuracy. So, you have to rely on your own data and interpretation to confirm which are your fertile and infertile days. You have to be consistent and very cautious to not fail. Daysy is a fertility monitor. With Daysy you just have to take your temperature and automatically she gives your fertility status for the day, without anything else. You just have to make sure you had 3-4+ continuous hours of sleep before measurement. You don't have to measure the same time everyday. And it does all for you! See more at Daysy website: www.eu.daysy.me/technology/how-daysy-works/ www.eu.daysy.me/effectiveness/ www.eu.daysy.me/technology/how-daysy-works/ www.eu.daysy.me/support/faq/ You can also join the facebook group "Daysy Fertility monitor" for more information and user experiences :)

You're welcome :) Daysy is the device that gave me enough confidence to finally go off the pill and be hormone free. I was not so sure about my commitment and my own interpretation of fertility signs with FAM, and that was delaying my decision. I'm now using Daysy as birth control and so far I'm loving it. Best decision ever...worth every penny. It is as easy as taking a pill, and temping everyday became so spontaneous for me. Totally recommend! Glad I could help :)

I've been seeing a few negative comments about the App in the facebook group, and I think it's related to the Android version, but I don't really know. Hi @FemmeHead ! I am just getting started on FAM and so pumped. I wanted to use the daysy and kindara for CM in conjunction, but I'm a bit confused: the daysy says you do NOT need to take your temperature at the same time every day in order for it to be accurate, however, I'd like to be able to both use the daysy's analysis of my temp chart and analyze it myself. does this mean I would need to get the daysy but still use it at the same time every day? or does the daysy create a chart you can analyze yourself no matter what? let me know if I'm not quite making sense...thank you for your wonderful content! It has been so helpful and motivating for me. please never stop. xx

Hi! I’m thinking of getting off the pill- I noticed the calendar picture on your phone with all the colors and couldn’t help but noticed there were only like 7 Green Days~ How many days out of the month on average would you say you can have unprotected sex? This is a factor for me in weighing out my decision as I don’t see my SO everyday or even every week sometimes so when We’re together... I want to be intimate. I would greatly appreciate your answer as I don’t know Many people doing FaM. Thanks!!

Hi Julie! I don't know if you're still looking for an answer, but with my last cycle on daysy I had 16 green days followed by 1 yellow day and then 11 red days. You can still have sex on red days, it's just recommended to use a barrier, i.e. condoms.

  • @imapineapple15

Chelsea Borges- Dominguez Wink doesn't tell you when you're fertile or not, you have to use the knowledge of the four fam rules to figure that out (first five, temp spike plus four days, dry day rule and I forgot the last one) whereas daysy just tells you. The Kindara wink also has a differently calibrated temp reading. When I compare my lady comp to my wink, if lady comp is 36.12 my wink might be 36.20 Celsius. It's not a big deal and doesn't mean it's less accurate, but it's a different pattern to get used to. And by the way the daysy is made by the same people who make the lady comp. LC just has more features like luteal cycle, ov range, and a few others. Hope that helps

I had PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) and am now looking for a non hormonal birth control that I also dont have to put in my body, like you do with the IUD. I have been looking at the Daysy but my boyfriend is not convinced. I know its ultimately my decision since its my body but i want to make a decision together. So, when the daysy says its ok to have sex, would you still suggest using condoms? And does insurance cover the Daysy?

Allie - There's a FB group about "all things Daysy" and perfect for questions like yours! Go to FB and look up "Daysy Fertility Monitor" under Groups. Also, look all over Daysy's website - there's so much great info in the FAQ's. It is your decision indeed but it feels wonderful and safer when your partner is on-board. Try showing your partner Victoria's other video that she and her husband made where they talk about the details of FAM and sharing that with a partner. The FB group is super informative and many people share positive experiences with Daysy all the time. I highly recommend it. I'm so sorry you had that scary experience because of your IUD :( I truly hope the Daysy can work for you! In terms of insurance, it's easiest to buy Daysy with an HSA. If you don't have an HSA, some insurance companies can cover or reimburse you for Daysy. Contact Daysy's customer service via email and ask them the specifics about how to find out this info from your insurance company. The FB group is soooo helpful for questions like yours. Best of luck! :)

It's your decision indeed. If he's not convinced, he can choose using condoms all the time, right? It's his choice too. But it's not fair it's you that have to put your health at risk, is it? Try to explain the science behind Daysy, Do your research first and be very informed so you can answer all of his questions. You can also check this post on how to talk to your partner about Daysy: www.usa.daysy.me/blog/your-partner-and-natural-birth-control/ If you become convinced that Daysy actually works , then it will be easier to get your boyfriend to accept your decision. Although your health and well being should be enough reasons for him. I had this same conversation with my boyfriend, and when I talked to him I have already made the decision. I explained everything to him, first about FAM and then I explained why I thought that Daysy was a good purchase. I also said to him that if he wasn't comfortable trusting a device, he could choose to wear a condom. I also gave him information for him to read... He seemed skeptical but he said that he trusts me and for him the most important thing is that I feel good. And here I am using Daysy :) I know he doesn't like condoms very much, and I was absolutely sure he would end up wanting to have unprotected sex eventually :P So eventually he would give up using condoms and start to trust Daysy anyway. :P Off course it's always better to have your partner agreeing with you, but he has to understand that you are putting your health at risk using HBC and IUD's, and that alone should concern him... Good luck :) (please join Daysy's group on facebook for more information and actual user experiences )

Why do you think PID was caused by the IUD? It's usually from bacteria that travel on sperm. Doesn't have to be from an STI, but typically it's from bacteria. Sorry, if this is too personal, I'm just curious what the docs told you about this. And don't let a man bully you to any decision. It's your body. Have you read 'taking charge of your fertility' by Toni Weschler? It's an amazing book all about being a woman, not just charting and contraception/fertility, but also about health. I highly doubt any insurance covers the device. The FDA doesn't even allow such devices to be called contraception (that's a highly regulated term). Maybe start with a normal basal thermometer for a 10er and the tcoyf.com free page for charting to see if it's something for you before committing to such an expensive device!

lavieemily i think it depends on your body, if you’re super in tune with it maybe you just need the daisy, but I think that most women who really do not want to get pregnant will do all three. The cervix always position your BBT and cervical discharge, probably depends on each person. I know that’s Victoria charts her discharge as well and doesn’t use the Daysi on it’s own

Well they both are facing lawsuits so not much. You can’t use these to avoid pregnancy the way they are marketed. Temperature only methods like natural cycles are not birth control. You need to track cervical mucus as well. Sympto thermal method is the way to go. Pick up the book taking charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler to learn the rules. And research the lawsuits daysy and natural cycles are going through and why.

Gabi NS it depends, if you have your periode day 1-day 5, and then ovulate on Day 10 you can get pregnant from having intercourse during your period. The good thing about charting is that you will know from former cycles when you ovulated ( for example around day 16 - day 18 ). in this case you can't get pregnent while you're on your period, because sperm can't survive till Day 16! when you've been charting for 2 years and your Temperature shift has never been before Day 16, you can assume it won't be before day 16 the current cycle. predicting your ovulation is never 100 % accurate, but you can tell when it's over, and then it's safe. the daysy won't give you a Green light when it's noticed you had a temperature shift before day ( i think ) 12 in your former cycles. then it won't give you a Green light. but starting with daysy you need to give it a little Bit of time to get to know your cycle ;) hope this answered your questions

It's also possible to get pregnant if you get an early ovulation - which may happen because of stress, for example. I still don't know what to do with it, maybe just only consider post-ovulation days to be safe. Also, I've heard it's a bad idea to have sex during your period as if you do happen to get an early ovulation a certain month, you won't be able to track your cervical fluid (because of the period) and miss the unexpected change in the cervical fluid.

I have a question- they say sperm can live up to 5 days inside you- so how does that work with the daisy or other products like it like the “ladycomp” etc? My periods have always been irregular. I do get one EVERY month. I recently just had surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. We weren’t planning necessarily but had been using no contraception for 9 mos because I was sick of how the pill made me feel and I’d much rather do natural birth control methods. Me and my husband really need something like this but I don’t know if it would still work if my periods are off every month like either by a week to two week to three weeks. Also the sperm question because you never know what if the light is yellow or red the next day after the green light- and you just had sex with no protection and that sperm can live up to 5 days?! Then you still have a chance of obviously getting pregnant right? Please help and thank you so much!

  • @FemmeHead

So, the Daysy factors that into its algorithm for when you get a red, yellow or green day. If you have unprotected sex on a green day and the next day is yellow you just need to be careful that yellow day, and not worry about your green day :). Also if you have irregular cycles I highly recommend learning how to chart yourself, which you can do in conjunction with using the Daysy. I think charting cervical fluid is very beneficial for everyone!
