Omg, I listened and watched this whole video just now. 60 plus now. Christian, I had 2 strokes, both knees problems with a cane. But before this I was a model, on law and order 3 times, Met Michael Jackson, others. Security Officer unarmed & armed, won all dance contests, all school spelling bees. Won singing contests. Lost all 6 of my babies in pregnancies. Buried a son. Cared for both parents until their deaths. Then my husband passed away. Now I'm a widow at home with illness starting my business in crafts, cook books and my clothing line. You helped me to know that I'm on the right track after working 40 years, it's my time now. God bless you always with unlimited prosperity in Jesus Name Amen 🙏❤️.

I still watch and listen to his team today. You really gave this some thought Anthony. I remember when you were on Dave Ramsey.

I worked for a bank and was responsible for business deposits and transactions. Not one single private business owner told me they had free time. They let me know that they barely was able to pay themselves a salary for some years when they first started. They also were not able to take vacation. It took them years to regain all of those luxurious we take for granted. It is not easy to be a business owner.

This was a very good video. I left my Marshall’s job of 14 years in December 2023 in order to work remotely from home. As a result had to rely on my emergency fund to get me by, along with my early withdrawal from my profit sharing plan from my Marshall’s job. I love the freedom of working for yourself and being able to control your own time. But I wish I was prepared for the sacrifices. I hope to continue learning about business and finances and learning to be financially free. I just know I’m having a blast trying to learning and figure out everything 😊

I just watched this and it made me cry… this was so raw!😭 I’m a new author and I wish someone had told me things. I’m praying and learning now from strangers . The crazy thing is I’m working on book #3 while my other 2 are barely selling. I think about that scripture about not “despising small beginnings”. 🙌🏽 I am doing what the Lord has called me to do, but I didn’t count the cost. However, the Lord is not obligated to give me all the details . I know he’s in and also leading my story. I feel like A.O. I ain’t giving up or turning back in spite of . Thanks for sharing this . I’m praying for you to meet your bride . She will be thanking the Lord for you. God bless you! 🙏🏽🥰

My first self employment for my first business , I was making a bit less than I was making when I was working for the govt (not counting alllllllll the benefits too). I was also working the same amount of hours as an hourly employee. I switched up to preserve my time to make it worth it. I learned the right hours to work and cut the time in half and made the same pay, so I increased the pay and worked less hours working smarter not harder 🏁 Wisdom is principal

Mr. Anthony you're a real one for sure......and I'm here for it👍🏽 Coming from a management background, & having had a father who never worked for anybody , helped bridge the gap towards entrepreneurship A LITTLE. But even with that..its ALWAYS on ones own shoulders! Since it always seems that most successful people do it ON THEIR OWN, I didn't know to ask for help/mentorship. So has a black woman I decided 2 get it from the mud. And now i lament immensely over my own past 2 failed businesses, and struggle with SEVERE analysis paralysis towards starting another. This message came right on time and on point. I truly needed to hear something like this, as it will be on repeat for a while.. ...Thank you for your sincerity sir🙏🏽💕

In all honesty, everything that he just explained about the sacrifices, the crying the almost giving up or feeling as though you were even fit for the task before you all sounds like being a parent. Anthony is not married he doesn’t have children and doesn’t know that sacrifice or the feeling But his entrepreneur ship and running his own business is giving him the closest thing to that I honestly believe that his experiences for him for family. He talks a lot about it a lot about finding the right lady and being in that arena and going to put him in a situation, his business is totally preparing him for it.

This is a useful video for anyone wanting to get into business, but this video can be summed up into one statement: You did not plan. You did not study business planning. You may have degrees, financial expert knowledge, and you may have had access to Dave Ramsey. You were widely successful in that environment. However, it was incumbent upon you to plan your exit. Keep the job with Ramsey and adopt a two-year to five-year exit plan from one environment where they are leading you to your environment where you are now leading yourself. God expects you to count the costs and study to show thyself approved. I'm glad you did this video because it is not up to people to tell you the truth. It is up to you to study that for yourself, i.e., get business books, read contract books, study leaders, etc. That was on you! Those responsibilities are on all of us. Take care.

This is the most real explanation you can give as an entrepreneur. As much as I have tried to tell people how it is to run your own business I can't get people to fully grasp the challenge, and the enjoyment of it all. I can go from pure excitement and joy, to dread and sorrow, and back in just a few hours some times, and I truly enjoy most days running my business, and seeing lives impacted from it.

Man this one hit home. Especially around 18:00 I felt all those feelings when I used to run my tow company/Repair shop. I used to question if I'm crazy, why am I doing this, all the above. I think I did go crazy at one point because I was growing faster then expected with little direction. Just tried to do what Feels right. Didnt know much about taxes, having a good lawyer, accountant, etc. I learned everything the HARD way. From having drivers stealing, damage claims, having to pay ppl and my bills behind, Having to right your employees wrong. Getting sued from ppl CLOSE to you, threats,etc... I fought for 7 years and when things started to equalize I quit. I was too much in my mind of what if something really goes wrong? I never paid myself, I should've paid myself. I always thought let me put the business 1st and l will get mines on the backend. After doing the math one year I paid a guy 60k! I don't make that now as a W2 employee and now that I'm back in the workforce I hate it. I realized those battles were uphill battles. I had young men egar to work for me in a time when they claimed genZ were lazy. I had a whole community supporting me.I had special accounts, police rotation and was on the verge of hitting on government contracts. I had freedom to work as I pleased.we even had a house with a 3.6% interest rate lock cant even get a house now...I gave it all up and moved to ATL(whole nother story) I should've stayed home and keep chipping at it. But just like that meme you don't know how far you really are or how close you are to success. I needed a vacation and a mentor. I had the team, work ethic and the platform, just not enough structure and discipline. Now as an employee to a job that people consider "good" I'm trying my best to get back to entrepreneurship. I'm 34yrs old its not too late. I'm in saturated area now but there's something about that rhythm when you getting your entrepreneurial rhythm none of that matters.

A O I can relate to everything you've said about running a small business. I thought it would be easier, but owning a business means doing the real work. It involves staying up late, getting only a few hours of sleep, and then doing it again the next day. As my associate pastor mentioned yesterday, I'm learning that there are times when we must rest. For our mental health, we need to step back and regroup. Thank you for your transparency. This is my Why...I Love your show.

U really don't have free license to judge how others do entrepreneurship tho. U should just speak on what you do. Cuz if I'm on a million dollar contract and all I have to work is 5 hours on it, I'm not working around the clock just to say I'm an entrepreneur. If youre working that hard, chances are the work has you and not the other way around. That's not freedom. That's hussle. The mentality needs to shift. Ain't nobody working just to work. Whether I work for myself or others, I'm cutting that time cuz it's priceless. That's where my freedom is

This episode of The Table was on point! Being an entrepreneur is very challenging! (That's an understatement). Great points on checking in on your mental health, having accountability partners, and getting insight into business before starting one (I believe this point was implied). Awesome job, AO!

Brother, everyone has a different approach, everyone has a different strategy others work a few hours a week and earn more, depends on each person's dreams, visions and inspirations, some people work smarter not harder and achieve their dreams, its not one size fits all
