I remember talking to him once. I told him how much his music meant to me growing up and how it moved me. He told me that the reason he makes the music is for people like me to feel a connection to it. Then proceeded to talk to me about his love for the art for about 10 minutes. It was amazing to see how passionate he still was after more than 20 years in the business and being such a legend. It’s still about the love. He was the only celebrity death besides Aaliyah that affected me personally. I felt like I lost my favorite cousins 💔

His first 5 albums went on to debut number 1 on the Billboard 200. Hes the only rapper to do so. Also his 6th studio album debuted at 2nd. Hes one of the greatest of all time. Gotta respect DMX

Jesus Christ has a special place for DMX for sure! He never lost his faith and love for Christ even during his life of suffering.

My favorite rapper and one of the most interesting and inspiring ppl I’ve known of. His openness about his struggles and willingness to lay his failures bare were amazing.
