Jean also does the head shake taunt, which translates to "No, that didn't hurt me." And yet another taunt is the chest pounding that the Haitian born fighter pulled here, gesturing to his foe to "bring it on." So in this short highlight clip, there were multiple taunts - followed by the correct response by Dmitry.

@@Cambodia69 That is not taunting. He was telling him to keep bringinng the fight to him. Hde was also telling him he was not hurt, and like the old boxing saying goes, when a boxer says they are not hurt it means they are hurt. Again, there was no tauntint in this fight.

If you look up "taunt" in either a dictionary or thesaurus, you'll find that Jean was doing precisely that. There are verbal taunts, and physical taunts. This is exhausting. Please do yourself a favor and look it up. And don't get back to us.

I think his foot work is what makes him a great fighter and he has good ass fundamentals like a great jab and cross and his in and out pop shot style is very effective against flat footed fighters but i still think all that won’t be enough for canelo

Never knew him until now after Canelo. This guy is a real deal. Super fast for a light heavyweight. Good amount of power and greater stamina than anyone I’ve ever seen. He could easily beat even GGG. If he goes down weight, he’s going to be a major threat with that height and reach.

Bivol's footwork is perfect I actually think jumping back in a strait line is more effective against Canelo than stepping to the side, where he then times hooks.

Agree! I came to watch this video after Bivol's win against Alvarez. Through this video, the demos of Bivol's boxing skills explain why he also won against Canelo. Bivol reminds me of Manny. His forward footwork is almost as good as Manny but he back away getting out of trouble better than the Pacman. Bivol doesn't get hit easily. This Russian dude will go a long way if he can keep himself mentally prepared for the long haul.

@ The Beast...sorry, you were saying? D'you honestly believe that Canelo really beat Gennady Golovkin in both of their fights? Do you? I DO rate Canelo Alvarez as an all time great 👍, how can anyone NOT!! Even the most bias boxing fans can't argue with that. But I myself believe that he lost to Erislandy Lara, & twice to Golovkin, although I have to say I wouldn't have argued it their second fight was a draw, to be honest. So I'm counting this loss against Bivol as Canelo's 5th loss. He's got nothing left to prove & he should be enjoying the fruits of his labour. Bow out while still on top. But he was never going to beat Bivol. He's got too much of everything & as Canelo is naturally a flat footed fighter, carrying that extra weight didn't do him any favours neither. As for a rematch, other than another huge payday, he'll still take another loss. But ratings to Saul Alvarez, NO excuses. Took it like a gentleman & a true champion. Besides, he's still the undisputed super Middleweight champion. Good 👍 try but he's got no business at 175l lb's. A faded Kovalev couldn't really give Canelo too much resistance & that win, specifically, gave him a sense of invincibility which cost him more in the long run. But absolutely nothing to feel terrible about, hell no. He just lost to a more well rounded & better prepared natural light heavyweight. And when you consider that he fought Floyd at 147 or 154 lb's I believe, then the very fact that he went 12 rounds with a bigger & better fighter is a small victory ✌ in itself really. Have yourself a pleasant day buddy. And just think, IF he'd have won last night, he was actually talking about fighting Usyk next!! 😏😷🇬🇧🇯🇲👊👊👊📿💯

No other multi weight class champion from Mexico is as started as big as is, he's always been middleweight sized, not much room to go up and was bound to hit that wall. But good on Canelo, pushed it to as far as it can go.

Bivol has great boxing fundamentals. Probably the best "textbook boxer" today. No unconventional techniques, no unorthodox style, he's simply an efficient boxer who has mastered boxing by the book.

Canelo doesn’t belong at 175. He’s not big enough for the guys there. It’s a reason that he gassed so quickly compared to his fight at 168. It was a daring move but a risk is a risk.

That is beautiful boxing, tactician, and power. He is very strong, he throws a lot of power punches which is very tiring. He got everything, power, stamina, tactics, intelligence, footwork, and patience. Props to both men. Let's go!

It’s always the footwork! See how in the later rounds Bivol started bouncing around and it was a lot harder for pascal to catch him. Manny was a master at footwork. Many can stand and trade but it takes the footwork and bouncing around that makes it a lot harder to catch. Tank did the same thing to pit bull.

Bivol sets up POWERFUL combos off of that 1-2. He's a machine, dude!

What a great fight from the both of them. Bivol runs away with the win in the later rounds for sure. Could you imagine being hit by either of these guys though? Their power, speed and accuracy is amazing.

Pascal was able to time Bivol with counters a few times, but even when the distance and timing was perfect, Bivol showed a responsible defense by putting his guard up and blocking the counter. If he can avoid Canelo’s counters and control the distance, like he has does with everyone, he stands a very good chance of winning.

Canelo is a fabulous counter puncher with ability to offensively attack, and possess inpenetrable defense. While KO ratio 39 out 60 fights shows he has hurt more fighters than Bivol (11 out of19). At this weight (Lightheavy), the faster fighter with greater strength more often wins. Faster from being lighter, as Super middleweight. A good middle weight can hit just as hard as a good Heavyweight. Bivol has slight chance but no real chance, Bro. I moved up Lightheavy weight in amateur world boxing and made world ranking #4 back in early 90's. I know what specifics dominate in that weight. This is my prediction . Thanks for your input. I see Bivol winning on points and not getting the decision. Same as GGG. This fight is interesting because Bivol took some heavy body shots and still had the strength and skills to control the fight. He's bigger than most of Canelos previous opponents. And he can punch straight which can trouble Canelo.

Amazing footwork by Bivol. That's what he need to defeat Canelo.He moves like a welterweight. Ps. And he has a great stamina too.

@@istockimage Yes it is, But style makes fight. Bivol might give Canelo a problem. He had a good resume too, fighting the like of jean pascal and jr smith. Those are hard hitters in the weight class. If Bivol can stand with the punch of Jr smith and jean pascal, he can stand the punch of Canelo. Jr smith is the 1 who knockout the aging Bernard Hopkins. I think even GGG will have a hard time with the likes of Bivol.

Bivol is beautiful to watch…. This reminded me of Apollo Creed vs Ivan Drago. One throwing haymakers, the other just have his right hand cocked ready to dish out punishment.

Respect to Pascal, some fighters just give in but he showed he got hair on his chest nonetheless. The Bivol is probably the best in this game, I think so.

I didnt knew nothing about Bivok before Canelo Fight, but after that fight, I've been watching his fights highlights and I enjoy watching his skills into the ring. He knows the moment when he must throw punches and defend herself. Has a good footwork. He knows how receive these punches!

Watching this fight again make me realized that Bivol just played with Canelo!!

After watching this fight, I wrote that bivol will beat canello. And I was right. To be honest, pascal fought a better fight than canello and bivol thought him boxing lessons. Now, imagine what bivol would do to canello??? Damnn, I never seen a guy so disciplined as bivol. He fought like this is his first fight. All about winning. Wowwww. Congrats all the way young man.

Possible size and weight may work against Canelo’s experience. Still edge Canelo though cause he has never gave a reason to doubt him lately.

Pascal is no Canelo, but this fight showcases a LOT of Bivol's skills that may give Canelo big problems. Bivol has decent power, but doesn't focus on throwing big shots. He's good at resetting after throwing punches. He brings his hands back fast after throwing to put him back in a tight defense. Because of this, I think Canelo will have a much harder time countering him. Bivol has more speed that most of Canelo's past opponents. He circles well, has good in/out movement and doesn't stay on the ropes. To be honest, I think Canelo would have to spar against people like Mayweather and Lara (2 of his toughest opponents) to get prepped for this fight. Bivol has the tools to get an upset win over Canelo.

The 20plus canwlo Version is nothing compared to what he is now. That being said, your right Pascal is no Canelo. BIVOL has this tricky step back left hook. He goes 1-2, takes a small step back and at the same time throws a left hook. He's got that into his arsenal and looks beautiful! However, if Bivol sits in the pocket and gets of the 3s and 4s. Then he may get countered. Bivol. Was hitting pascal with 5 and 6s. Thats a dangerous habit to get to. That allows the other fighter to counter you. We all know Canelo is one of the best counter puncher. When canelo lands that shot, which he will. Expect his corner to say. "Do not brawl, stick to the 1-2s...." which Canelo will know and begin to walk him down because 1-2s mean your 1-2 and move! Very exhausting! Only few fighters have done that Lara and Floyd. But those 2 were lighter weight class and this is a different version of Canelo of massive power! He had Kovalev throw 1-2s all night long. And had him second guess the 3s and 4s.

Bivols wins huge on points unless it's a ko to canello or Bivol gets robbed... awesome fight for all the right reasons and first real test for Alvarez
