As an engineer in the field of epoxy composites I must stress, that it is highly advisable to use proper protection gloves, when you handle epoxy. I have seen far too many colleagues with high allergic response to epoxy from earlier skin contact to this substance. Thin nitrile gloves are not removing your excellent handyman skills ;-)

Some time is better to work without gloves but use tool and don't get contact with the epoxid! Epoxid under gloves are so wors! Work clean und Fresh air on the hand/skin is much better. I bought myself a 3M Helmet with extern blower. It's amazing! I've got allergy against different dust. 😑

My old neighbor builds and flies these (minus the motor), I've seen him fly one for an hour and a half straight off a single throw once, he competes regularly with them. The craftsmanship of these hand tossed glider planes is on another level, I'm routinely amazed by how perfect and smooth the carbon wings end up. I've always been into flying freestyle drones and would like to get into some wings, though I'll be leaving the gliders alone for a while lol.

As someone who builds, flies, and repairs competition F3K gliders, I have a series of questions for you. 1. Why not a bias weave on the wings and tails? The bias would allow for a stiffer part in torsion. 2. Why not kevlar hinges on the tails and wing? 3. Why the 60gsm fabric on the tails? Glass tails are typically fine 4. Why didn't you use 3m77 to adhere the glass LE reinforcements to the core? 5.Why no beds to hold the wings while bagging to prevent warps? 6. Why no shear web in the wings? 7. Why bottom drive for the wing servos? This exposes the linkage unnecessarily.

I've never made a carbon-formed polyester core model, but the quality of your video and the tip about using a vacuum packing machine really makes me want to give it a go. A few questions: 1°) on the leading edge of the stab, do you use fiberglass or peel ply (the material seems to be adhesive) ? 2°) The stab core seems to be made of styrifoam and the wing cores of polyester. Is there any particular reason for changing materials? Thank you in advance for the time you will pass to reply, and thank to share all your 3D model !

If you use nylon CF filament, the strength is super good. It is certainly not as light as making it with carbon and a mold, but at the same time it is very easy to 3D print it.
