the 60fps guide on the forum is gone btw, do you have to replace default.xex only or the other pack files as well?

We just love the games, the studios aren't giving us anything so we just do it ourselves. Fun fact people are re-building the OG Xbox live on the OG Xbox, why? Idk but it's really cool. For one a change of developers might suffice, Volition isn't a reliable developer and considering how Volition and surprise Deep Silver ruined Saint's Row IP and not to mention the recent Reboot which went nowhere, all thanks to some higher management of two parts of the company bickering over one another over the dumbest crap given which wasted everyone's time including those who make sausage and those who consume it, seriously at this point I would've trusted THQ Nordic with the Saint's Row IP rights more than Volition or Deep Silver, cause neither Volition or Deep Silver can make another good Saint's Row game, we are well past that stage now, time for a new team to take the Saints on a new journey for a more brighter future for the franchise.

Unfortunately, i think when IdolNinja passed away, any hope for SR2 went away with him. H was really our last hope, honestly.

Yes I love seeing appreciation for this game! Sr1 and sr2 are still some of my favorite games! I just wish they had rebranded the rest of the games as a different series, it really ruined the saints row name. (Sr3 wasnt that bad I'm talking about the other abominations)

The Saints Row community is so dedicated. To bad the developers hate their fans so much.

They could do a full remaster in the original style and it would make them more money and cost less than their recent release

Volition hates their own IP too much for that, or else they would've hired a third party to remaster SR1 and 2 before the reboot, like they did with SRtT. Not only would that have been EASY money for them, but maybe the reboot would've been less crappy had they actually done that. Volition 100% deserves to go out of business, to be honest. Like chapter 11 bankruptcy. The SR community is more deserving of this IP than anyone left at Volition.

2:36 - 2:46 It's funny how Volition actually posted a roadmap for the Saints Row reboot's DLC expansions the day after this video was uploaded. Regardless, until that PC patch comes along (IF it comes along), looks this will be the most optimal way to play Saints Row 2 on PC for now.

I think there's a good case to make for Volition being a modern day 3D Realms. Both companies were mainly known for one game/series which they don't take care of.

Thank you for these videos, Flippy, I've been watching your stuff for a decade now and I really appreciate all you do to preserve probably one of the worst preserved series of all time. That being said... I just can't get the SR2 DLCs to work. I tried multiple versions of Xenia, current canary, the exact same build Flippy uses in this video, Master, then Master stfs loader...and it only works in stfs loader but it that one has much worse FPS than the canary. No matter what I do the game always tells me my DLCs are corrupt and I feel like I'm gonna go crazy lol

I wonder, if the Freezer glitch can cause your game disc to become scratched, what does it do on Xenia? Of course it doesn't scratch your hard drive, but what does it do?

i found those cheer leaders when i was playing this game, i like how saints row 2 had different areas with things going on, in the reboot it looks like they just dropped random peds on every location.

SR2 was the last game to have this system where different areas had different looking npc's. Ever since SR3 there were only the 5-6 same npc's everywhere.

@@imrileth6618 i know that bugs me alot, wanna know what else bugs me? in saints row the third if you head shot them they do this annoying scripted back flip almost every time, not the same as saints row 1 and 2 headshots with a pistol.

Something aspect that only in SR2 and the one and only its the people in free roams refer you as the girl.. in the next game people dont give a shit about you are girl they still refer you as the man..

@@YZY_Fox21 yeah i dint really like the third because of the fact after you beat it t heres not much to do, even gat utta hell gave you a better world and collectables to get. i think the only thing i dint like about saints row 1 and 2 was that you had to do activities to get respect and do missions, i use to just grind drug trafficking and fight club and the derby thing to unlock max respect.

@@FreeAimDog i think That respect mission its makes sense to force player gained the respect bar first by spend more times in the game to play the side activity besides.. after you beat the game you feels like you want to keep those Gangs enemies territory like that i also make some backups so there is one save game focused on the side activities and mission,And one for campaign only.. so far i dont see any trouble.. Criminal Ventures in SRR its more annoying than respect bar SR1,2.. because they force you to finish that activity firat or you cant jump into the campaign mission. The reward in SR1,2 also awesome except for SR2 for collectibles songs you got the bad songs while SR1 was the opposite you got the good song... And SR2 reward give you free pimps outfit doing hoing,And Doing landing with parachute onto the target give you no more fall damage.

You do more than Volition has done with SR in a decade.

Finally. It's been 84 years...

Even though it says "Success" on my installed content it doesn't show up in "Downloadable Content" :(

Flippy, I have a question. How do we obtain the DLC vehicles if we have mods installed? because I modded my car_dealerships file to add all the vehicles in the game to Foreingh Power and I think that's overwriting the car_dealerships file from the DLC, you got any idea how to fix it? I already tried replacing the DLCs car_dealerships file with my modded onw but that didn't do a thing.

Unfortunately, Volition can say whatever they want. I officially gave up hope that the Saints Row 2 patch is happening. It's been too long, and honestly if I'm right in assuming it's scrapped, what a huge slap in the face it would be to IdolNinja and the rest of the Saints Row community.

When installing the DLC packs for sr1 I get an error once my game loads up to the main menu screen. My game is on version 1.01, and isn't that the TU the game is supposed to be on for DLCs to work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure Idolninja is giving a thumbs up to this from up there.

2024 update: New versions of Xenia have broken bloom effect (blocky patterns, where some blocks display bloom and some don't), which makes the game quite epilepsy inducing. SR1 still plays fine though (but I recommend using Special K for proper VSync, since built-it solution doesn't work properly).

Hey there is a bug and I think it's in the rendering when I downloaded sr 1 and sr 2 for xenia sr 1 ran Pixelated and had alot of frame drops and sr 2 runs smoothly but it looks pixelated I don't know why this is happening but I tried to search on yt and I tried alot of methods but they didn't work and I even got the 60 fps xex mod and the game still pixelated and I have amd Radeon 5 graphics card I think.... but pls help me

It wouldn't surprise me if they dropped a reboot sequel before the sr2 patch. That's about the amount of respect for their old games I'd expect from them these days

That PC patch is probably never coming out at this point. How sad is it running the original games through an emulator has arguably become the more feasible option?

Emulation is the true form of video game preservation. It's not just for Saints Row. Try to play an old PC game from 2002 and trust me, you will want to boot up that emulator asap.

No matter what I do I can't get it to say it recognizes the DLC. I got some downloaded content messages in game. Maybe it registered it and just isn't letting me click the 'downloaded content' button?

it is not working on xenia canary, i used same version (29.11.2022 in video) , new version. Only the tittle update #3 is instalted -ok, but all three dlc are not working, got message with corrupted error, that many got the same error. And also antivirus detecter trojan virus in the files from the link video below. Solution i didnt find

I tested it yesterday and managed to hit a pretty stable 60 on Xenia, no stutters in places that normally stutter for me like the boat escape and the courthouse.

How powerful does your PC need to be to have that? I can't get a stable framerate on Xenia. PC runs better unfortunately.

I can't get the SR2 DLC to work at all. I get the "checking for DLC" thing at the menu screen, but I don't see any of the DLC stuff in game

Bruh i can't even play Saints Row 2 normally because when it doesn't keep crashing it goes down to like 4 fps even with gentelmen of the row installed and playing it in winowed mode.

I don't think the SR 2 patch will come out any time soon, honestly, I've given up on it
