    I thought for a second or two we were going to see some prop damage at the very least. So far I have not had the balls to try Nifty mode on my Air 3 but, I am coming round to the thought train that I would always be wishing I had. If It goes very wrong, I may be asking DJI if they will give me a new drone on the care refresh. I will say Ian made me do it!

    I cut my hands today when i tried to diffuse a drone. I have the parrot anafi and while i was fiddling in the app in my bed to set the camera settings accordingly -: i mustve slipped and accidentally tapped thr edge if the screen while holding the phone and it lifted off via the button in the app; I've catched it mid-air on reflex and tried to hit the on/off switch after unsuccessfully pressing on the "cancel" button within the app (i did but the motors did not stop.) and i reached to the button on the battery pack while slicing outer layer on two knuckles but it didn't turn off; i then went a little further and trued to disengage the battery completely from its racket while still having those tiny and slim blades swirling vilely, it deactivated after the battery was removed. That's my story. Lesson: props are vicious. Plus it would've been more wise to tilt the drone to its head which usually deactivates them automatically via detection. Also, ill need more callus in my knuckles.

    7:22 Hi Ian, The Silver Birch approach. Could the direction taken (quick left, then to the right in 2nd attempt) be affected by the speed of approach?. As you had both tests aligned dead centre to the tree, could this slight approach speed diference be why it went firstly left, then (at the slower speed?) to the right?.

    Speaking of obstacles: Crossed Stars, Feuding Families, Tybalt, Friar Lawrence, Paris, The Nurse, Poison, and a Dagger, to mention a few. Unfortunately, Romeo challenged them all in Normal Mode. If he had used Nifty Mode, he and Juliet may have lived happily ever after with Juliet’s father paying for a cheap wedding instead of an expensive funeral.

    I think that might work quite well in active track mode, as long as youre not going too fast or the obstacles are to extensive. It would probably help on those situations where it has a tendency to lose you when its thinking too much in normal mode. It seems the nifty mode allows it to think and act much quicker

    Hi Ian. Special Request;.. I am currently planning a Night-Time Waypoint Video. There isn't a lot, if any, info on the best way of going about this, so I have cherrypicked the Info I need from various KZreadrs. The main points for a Night-time waypoint are to set up the waypoints actually on location in Daylight and NOT remotely using just the Maps which is a great feature but very risky if there are any Trees or other obstacles in the chosen location. Once the Daylight mission has been completed and saved, this can then be tweaked so Camera Angles, Heights, Speeds, POI's etc can all be changed to suit the scene to be shot. I think you could do a fantastic job of creating a 'How-To' video of Night-Time Waypoint Missions. I would do this myself, but I just don't have the set-up or Voice skills etc to do it!. I am sure you would get mega viewings, as this video would be combing the two Best features of the Mini 4 Pro; Waypoints AND Night video mode.

  • @IaninLondon

    @IaninLondon

    8 ай бұрын

    Fair enough. The night-time element isn't the main point here; once you've set up and saved the mission, you can re-fly it any time you like. Waypoints video long overdue as been a good couple of years since the last one on the Mavic 2...

  • @exmoorbaydrones

    @exmoorbaydrones

    Yes, absolutely Ian. One thing I have noticed on some M4Pro social media groups it seems that for a great many, this will be their First Drone, so these people just won't have the Basic skills or even an understanding of how a Drone should be flown safely even in the Daylight hours, so they will be going out with their brand new flying Chunk of £1000 expecting it to avoid every obstacle, whilst capturing fantastic footage & returning to them in the Dark safely without doing ANY preparation then claiming insurance for their complete Ignorance/incompetence. I am pretty happy that I can execute my Night-time Waypoint mission without any more KZreadry, but for this group of people, I really think they need educating...preferably the IaninLondon way!

    Just a quick question, in nifty bypass mode, are the controls still as jumpy as they are in normal bypass mode? Also, has DJI addressed that problem? It doesn't make sense for the controls to be that different when changing the obstacle avoidance settings. I would think you might be able to make it less sensitive using the expo settings but it still seems odd that it's like that. Anyway, great videos as always
