I love movies like this. Long distance flying is my passion. This is so exciting! The 11,11km limit is not hard codec in my experience. Rather, it has to do with the level of signal strength, or the timing of the signal transmission. I have flown over 11km many times and lost communication after stopping at 11080m, 11050m, etc. I have successful flights at a distance of about 13km, but the last two km of the drone is flying without communication, in the RTH procedure with a new homepoint set. You have to stop the drone in the air a little over 11km and set a new homepoint for it 2km away. You need to plan well where the drone will land. Then just turn on the RTH and record on the SD card to see how the flight went later. It is very exciting, but you can lose your drone. Only for people with strong nerves.

Hi Longranger Question to your nice report The modified battery can be charged with the charger of the old battery with a capacity of 2250mAh. Will be adopted in the future the new update of the firmware of Mini2 without any problems Must be updated as in the film the mentioned message to confirm the authorization of the new battery. I am surprised, particularly in that terrain with human habitation on route to interfere with signal strength. Anyway sensible to test over land, so you could have emergency landed if necessary

The Longranger excellent video!! Could you please advise how you did it to modify the board? I know that you use TRB SW but what parameters did you change? Any way to contact you? Trbwiki site it seems to be broken, at least is not loading and alway throws an error

Thats a modded battery.Amazed with the 11k mark,thats awesome.I also am/was chasing the further I can push my drone but with the original battery.I believe I'm the only one that did with the Mini 2 using the Mini 1 battery,totally with no modification,above sea 7km in one way and back!So thats 14km total.Believe it or not its all on video.

The law says,at least in my country and most countries in Europe,that I have to have an open,registered business for to edit videos that were filmed with a drone otherwise I may get into serious trouble and pay a great fine for editing a video with no permit publicly.But if you send me your mail I may send you few pics and shorts so you can see I'm telling the truth and am standing behind my words.

And BTW I'm an RC modeler(past 14years)and went from RC gliders and planes onto drones(actually drone,Mini 2).You can check my chanell and see few of my flights and skills with the planes so you can get a clearer picture of me.I know it sounds almost immposible that I did 14km with the Mini 1 battery in my Mini 2 but it's true and also I was baffled.That day was special,everything got perfectly aligned for the record,wind(very very small brezze),temperature,humidity,I also believe thermals,battery(it was new only 3 flights on it) and the direction.Just to be clear,that day,with the battery before that,also Mini 1 battery,also a new one,I also did 13.6km, 6.8km one way and back.All was abowe sea only,no one was in danger neither people or planes cause the max altitude was 25m and I flew it into the open sea,obove the blue desert.

wow..!!! the furthest i ever managed was about 2.5km and will start loosing signal

For me, stock in CE mode is around 3.6km (7.2km round trip) I managed 5015m stopped at 60% (10030m round trip) with the FCC hack and landed at 22%, with that in mind, it would, should have done about 6.25km (12.5km round trip) had I risked it, not one for taking the pee so 60% is as far as i dare, so i have a little contingency lol

Stock battery can do 6.5km max .. I tested that already.. That's why modified battery is better

What cells configuration have been used with your BMS solution? 2S2P 3500 mAh?

@@thelongranger7574 Use www.drone-hacks.com you just have to find the parameter that's limiting you to 11k and change it to whatever you want. It lets you see and change literally any parameter, height restrictions, speed of controls, gimbal, all that good stuff.
