I agreed with that. Bought my Mavic two years ago. Flown it about 4 times and never touch it again because of this reason.

In the UK this will fall into the A3 sub category by Jan 2023 so it will only be able to be flown in the middle of no where unless you pay £500'ish for the GVC license that most people won't want to do.

Just wondering does it have aperture priority/shutter priority mode where I can set a fixed shutter speed and aperture will change automatically according to lighting conditions during flight ?? It was such a pain with fixed aperture drones to respect the 180 rule while flying …

I would be curious to see it compared to the 2s with active avoidance. What I want is the Skydio 2 with active AI for following and being able to shoot myself while driving off road, etc. But they are not available here...yet. :-(

Are the ND filters for the wide and zoom lenses the same or are the calibrated? The f/4.4 won't need or want as much as the 2.8... 🤔 But so hyped about this overall.

What recording formats is it able to do? What is it's claimed flight time and what sort of flight time did you get while testing? Do you consider it worth purchasing the Mavic 3 over the 2.. even if the Mav2 had a discount? How was the software? pretty smooth running? any notable bugs? Genuinely in the market to pick up a drone for when Covid restrictions relax in the comming weeks! (I love taking photos in the Australian Outback, having a drone will offer me a new perspective & enjoyment)

How well does the tracking work? I think that's the biggest issue with mavic 2. It's kinda the GoPro of drones (compared to professional bigger drones) but it can't do any of the "just shoot video and don't care about it" stuff. Not just following a mountain bike, even just following a car or so.

You up St Martha's Hill? I used to live there (basically). Always a bit weird when you see the KZread matrix intersect with the real world.... Cool drone too :)

With the new 2023 UK regulations it's pretty pointless to get anything in between a mini and an inspire. You'll have to go through just as many restrictions and legal problems with this mavic as you would with a fully rigged inspire. Not allowed anywhere near basically anyone or anything. Hope we get a mini 3 with a camera like this, I'd happily sacrifice battery life for a better camera to fit into the 250g limit

Sure and it would defy the laws of physics and defeat the point of all the effort put into the Mavic 3 and then be almost the same price as this , 250G with a 4/3 sensor in the size of a Mini 3 , please tell me how ?. Bare in mind this is a prosumer system not a basic drone like the mini series.

I still love my Mavic 1 but having already crashed it once on its second voyage I can see how incredible the obstacle avoidance has become. That and all the image quality improvements. Hard for me to fork out for the upgrade but when eventually the mavic 1 dies I’d be glad to own it.

It's honestly better to learn how to fly without sensors turned on. Even the sensors can cause a crash especially when you have it set to avoid obstacles, I only have them set to beep as when I had my air 2s set to avoid it saw something Infront and jumped up and went left and nearly hit something else. It's probably useful if you fly further away so it can avoid obstacles on the way back but I would 100% never use them when flying line of sight.

Mavic 1 footage is sooooo old and dated.

today i lost my dji mini 2 it flew against a branch above water and went under so it seems expensive a mavic 3 but it does have sensors to prevent this so it will be saved again

Firmware updates not until jan next year!! Pay to wait if u can afford 2200 usd for base drone?

I'll be very interested to see if Active Track is available in other frames rates. I have a Phantom 4 Pro+ and annoyingly Active Track is only available in 30fps (I believe this is the case with other DJI drones, but I may be wrong). There is also a dip in video quality when Active Track is selected. Considering the cinematic options that Active Track opens up (some shots would be impossible to achieve otherwise, for non-professionals who may be filming solo), then it's a major pain that the quality dips and the frame rate set sitself to 30fps.
