I would love to see more information on using the RTK kit and the recorded geo-tiff locations gathered for Mapping.

Nicely done! Can you guys now do a video showing how to get the RTK Geo-tagging information from the top to the camera?Hardware and software setup required...

Hi Rick, If you're using a DJI camera, such as a X3, X5, Z30, or XT, the D-RTK's higher accuracy GPS position is recorded to the JPG files EXIF data automatically. No setup required to make this happen.

I reckon Rick is looking for a way to translate the captured RTK position by the antenna's (on top of the aircraft) to the camera's optical centre (underneath the aircraft) through some offset measures. For surveying and photogrammetric purposes, the position of the aircraft/ antenna's is not so relevant, one should ideally know the exact position of the camera at the time each image is captured.

If you're using a 3rd party camera, and the DJI Expansion Module to fire the camera, the GPS data is cached every time you press the shutter button as well. This data can be found in the copter's flight log by plugging into the DJI Assistant software.

Hi, I have exactly the same setup as in your video. however I cannot see any data in the RTK satellite status window in the DJI Pilot app. The app does indicates i am in RTK mode.

How do you set up the base station so that it has “lock”? Is it like a surveyor’s base station, where you have to have an internet/WiFi capable device to tap into an existing system?

You turn it and it records it's coordinates, however if you want to modify the coordinates you can plug into Assistant 2 before turning it on.

Any experience with "IMU heading errors" shortly after takeoff with this setup? Had issues today with the test flights of our unit. Did IMU and Compass calibration and it still slipped out of GPS hold and started flying like it was in ATTI.

Aaron Mendez - I have an M600 standard with the RTK kit. The IMU heading issues are usually related to the RTK puck XYZ coordinance settings or a compass has twisted away from pointing at the front of the aircraft. Double check that you have the correct RTK puck plugged in to the correct antenna on the rtk kit. Look up the DJI M600 RTK group on Facebook also to get more information and ask questions.

Has ANYONE done a survey with it? All i could find on the net so far is people "saying" how cm accurate it is by "hovering" the damn thing manualy, yet no one (or at least i can't find one) has actually implemented it on a survey. I'm using a P4 pro and getting good results, but this RTK should be even more precise (if it does what they say it does).

I spoke with a survey company in North Carolina who claims that the system is not capable of survey grade accuracy within the collected data. It's important to distinguish between how well the system flies and how accurate the collected data is. This is a function of not only the lack of accuracy within the RTK system, but also RTK data drop-outs during flight, and the quality of the cameras available to the M600. The NC company is using the Inspire 2 with the X4S camera, coupled with Propeller Aero points, and getting close to survey grade accuracy data.

You can use the aero points withe M600 and you can use the Ronin Gimbal and put a Sony A7RIII and have a high megapixel camera. However yes the RTK is not survey grade. I y I was told by our surveyor customers that the survey the land 3 times before they would even fly. So they have the ground points for accuracy. They do not use the aero points. However rely on their surveying.

Hi Gerry, The RTK's maximum range from the base station is dependant on the Datalink pro, which is: DATALINK PRO 900: Japan: 1200 m Australia: 2000 m FCC: 2000 m CE: 300 m More info on either of these systems can be found on DJI's website: www.dji.com/datalink-pro/info#faq www.dji.com/d-rtk

Wasn't really a good demonstration to the audience of the centimeter level accuracy. It was filmed by hand so there was shakiness. Couldn't you have filmed with a tripod? Zooming into the UAS in the air didn't help either. The filming didn't help see the main feature of the shown product.

Hi Collin, thanks for the feedback, I'll ramp up my camera skills in the next video like this. What specifically can I answer for you regarding the RTK system? The copter's position will still will still waver in the air, there's really no way to get rid of every shake with an aerial platform for the sake of aerodynamics, but it's exact position is recorded to the camera, as well as the copter's flight log with centimeter level accuracy. I go over the installation on the copter with greater detail in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hpicp86Snafdnpc.html Also, check out DJI's site for more info on the RTK system that will also be available on the upcoming M210 series. www.dji.com/d-rtk Cheers, Chris

Hello Quadrocopter, I'm wondering how I'd be able to extract the D-RTK gps coordinates whether it be post flight or if it would be possible to mesh the high accuracy gps data into an integrated DJI gimbal, such as the Zenmuse Z15-5D III with a Canon DSLR, when a picture is taken. Thanks

Yes it was a quick run and gun. Without a lot of clouds in the sky it is hard to see how stable it is.
