DIY Zelda BOTW Traveler's Shield Leather Backpack - Full Tutorial
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
After celebrating my son's birthday on the theme of The Legend of Zelda - Breath Of The Wild, I decided to make him the traveler's shield. But, I thought it would even be cooler if I made him a backpack shaped as a shield, in which he could store his Link's costume.
I cut a big piece of 2mm veg tan cow leather, wet the leather with warm water, and embossed the design of the shield. Once both sides of shield were fully dry, I was able to dye it used water based leather dye and water based silver and gold for the boss and the rim of the shield. I applied two coats of neatsfoot oil and two coats of Super Shene leather finish on all parts and it was done (after a lot of stitching).
I'm super happy with the result, and as you'll see in the video, my son is as well :)
If you liked the video, don't hesitate to like, comment and share. And if you have any question, I'll be happy to answer them. Till next time, be good, be safe, and keep making!

Thank you very much Douglas. You are absolutely right. Putting time and love into a gift makes it much more valuable than something bought in a store! :) Thanks for watching!
Just awesome. I like that it doubles a backpack and shield.

IncREDible. It's not a real Redsmith film unless you get killed by Little Red. 😍 Thank you for sharing and for all the amazing hard work you put into your projects.

Thanks a lot Al. Apparently Kiddo likes to kill me in video. Freud would have probably a lot to say about that. Thanks for watching my stupid videos, even when they are 30 min long :)
So much stitching! What a great project. Your son must be thrilled.

Such a great build! Thanks for sharing man. Did you use a single massively long length of thread for the stitches around the outside or did you have to use multiple shorter lengths?
@RedSmith
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot man! I stitched each side with two different threads. One for the left and one for the right. Same thing for the other side. So four shorter threads total. If one thread breaks, I won't have to do all the stitching again😊
Oh that was fantastic Red 👌 so many stitches I bet your hands where tired after that! That's one lucky little dude happy birthday to him👍

@RedSmith

Merci Bernard ! Ca me ferait effectivement gagner beaucoup de temps, mais je n'ai qu'une imprimante laser. Mais je vais essayer autre chose demain avec une nouvelle machine que je viens de recevoir et que j'utiliserai bientôt dans une vidéo :)
