Did this exact solution thank you so much Brandon! I have the Alpha arms and the REP pins. Works like a champ. I LOVE doing dips on these. One "hack" I've seen others mention that works GREAT with these is using a band for assisted dips. They fit great over the pins and provide excellent accommodating assistance with dips.

Great suggestion, appreciate the feedback!
It’s oddly satisfying to find out that even Sorinex products are not immune to becoming a dust collector along with your Rogue lever arms, Vendetta brackets, and Urethane Wagon wheels. 😂

I love this set up and copied it. Thanks for sharing. I didn’t want a dedicated rack mounted dip station for two reasons, one don’t want to leave it on the rack to get in way all time, and two with a smaller home gym it takes up too much space on floor or wall.

Glad to hear it worked out for you too!
I put a plate holder peg on one of the front uprights and another on the adjacent back upright. They're smooth and a wide grip, but functional. So I'm dipping on the side (which is not as wide as the front) of the BoS tall residential power rack. Works for me, and I'm 5'1".

Spends money on attachments, makes them himself.
I went the REP storage pins on my spotters route while waiting on my MM UDA. Since they arrive I mounted them on a Rogue Monster Lite Strip on the wall and have been really happy. The extra thick handles were well worth the upgraded price.

Thanks my dude, nice lifts the other day, was watching on the TV while I rode the Peloton so couldn't comment.
After hating the rack attached dip bars. I bought the EliteFTS/WS E-series V bar dip station. Makes getting into position for weighted dips so much easier and no upright to hit my face. And it isn’t that much more expensive than the velocitdor or UDA.

I know Black Widow also makes a popular one, I just don't want a dedicated space for dips, but def agree it's prob the best option if you love dips.

@@BasementBrandon yea I looked at that one too, but the one mentioned above is full sized, for lack of a better descriptor, and has a step up bar running under the bars, so you step up into the top position versus sort of jumping into the starting position. And it lets me get the perfect hand placement. And I did love dips, but the rack attached ones never felt good. And the width was too wide for me.
I’m not sure it makes sense for us, but I’m glad you like it. Those arms do have great versatility. 💪🏼

That’s brilliant! Pretty sure you’ve convinced me to go with a Monster rack already, so now I’ll have to look into Oak Club too. The depth of your rack is 30”?
@BasementBrandon
Жыл бұрын
Yes, front is 30". I don't find I need a 43" depth usable area and 24" is a bit too confining.
Hang rings or cable handles from chains or straps ...one rep will probably equal 10 on static bars. I started off the knees to get my first rep. I used chains and cable handles

Nice
Have you considered using the Sorinex dip attachment on the iron bear that you have? I just leave it there stored and flip it down when I need it. It will hold with a pin directly behind the upright so it flips down in the correct way to jump right into dips. I also do dips facing the other way instead of facing the upright.
@BasementBrandon
Жыл бұрын
I have way too much stuff on my iron bear so there isn't room to mount.
I use a 43" flip down safety and a couple of Monster weight storage pins. All things considered, it works great. It's very stable and seems like it would be superior in that regard to something that attaches to a single post. I have considered alternatives to the weight storage pins as they can be a bit slick under certain conditions. They're also pretty thick. Some might call them girthy. I'm surprised Rogue doesn't offer a 30" flip down safety. It would be interesting to hear the rationale behind that decision.

Agreed, seems like a low hanging fruit.
Awesome idea! Makes me wonder if the threaded & Knurled handles from Reps SSB would work in a spotter arm.

One way to find out!
The bench prop is the best option, IMO. It’s a more stable base, with more width options to accommodate different body types. It also centers your bench when not in use.

I'm a fan obviously. I think mounting higher up is likely more difficult though.
@clb121781

@@BasementBrandon it’s actually super easy! Not any harder than mounting the OC, where you have to hold it with one hand and slide the pin in with the other. You insert the pins directly into the rack and rest the crossmember on them. Pull one out and insert into the crossmember hole and then repeat on the other side.
Nice review Brandon. When ordering these handles, they ask if you would like to change the length of the thread from 2 1/4” to 1” long, did you make that change?
@BasementBrandon
7 ай бұрын
Mine is the longer option. I have no need for it so 1" would work, i'm guessing they do that so they work on posts that are smaller than 3" wide.
Hey Brandon - can you Oak Club Campbells be attached to those spotters? I'm considering buying them because I often do rear-foot-elevated split squats in my rack but in the reverse direction and want to be able to mount handles somewhere to hold. Or, I guess I could solve that by somehow getting my rack-attached utility roller behind me somehow; any ideas?

I can test it but it would be easier if you emailed me (in description) or sent me a DM on IG as it will be easier to me to see and respond.
I have these same handles in the same size and love them. However I bought the very first batch of the actual dip attachment from MM before he even started putting his logo on the unit. The knurling on those handles is SHARP. Like really sharp. I like them but it's almost like borderline painful to do high rep dips lol. The shorter 12" ones I got are not really ideal for the attachment itself though because you're too close to the upright. That knurling on my first batch is money though, wish he made a bar like that.

Bro thoese are some nice handles, whats the diameter and the lenght, and did u wish you got them longer or no?? Def understand, small biz problems.
Find a place to mount a Rogue 3x3 Strip and leave your Sorinex dip attachment set up 24/7. I DIY’d my own strip and leave my dip attachment set up there instead of having to add/remove it from my rack. Not sure where you could mount a Strip with the concrete walls tho.

Hey Brandon, on the Alpha arms is the UHMW more of a matte black or gloss black? I was looking to upgrade my Alpha arms to gloss black. However from all the pictures I’ve seen, the UHMW looks like it would color clash with gloss black. I requested Oak Club to send me a picture of gloss black Alpha arms unfortunately they didn’t have any to send over. I would like them gloss black however, I don’t want to receive them and they end up being two toned but not in a good way. First world problems, right
