DIY Tutorial for My Favorite Traveler's Notebook 2-Pocket Folder
Фильм және анимация
Full instructions for the regular size Traveler's Notebook folder, plus you won't want to miss the formula & dimensions for any and all of the other sizes. I have found that I realistically don't use more than 2 pockets functionally at a time, so this one is perfect!
*I forgot to mention the option to slit the top of the pocket sides if you'd like. Also, the paper dimensions for the wide TN are 11"W x 12"H.

so nice to see someone NOT using all sorts of fancy machines and devices. Your way of explaining the size and form was very easy understandable...Now I feel like I can make a pocket folder :)
Thanks for the gret tutorial and making it easy to understand. Bit of a TN Newbie here :)
I had watched a few different videos on making these folders and yours by far was the easiest to understand. I also thank you for listing the different sizes and formula to make any size we want.
Thank you so much for a post that didn't ramble about your personal life before you started in on the folder. Also, thank you for being concise and to the point during the video. It's so hard to find on YT. This was extremely helpful and now I'm off to make some folders. Also, your speaking voice volume was perfect - you weren't loud or too soft. You also didn't have that horrible buzzing of background noise I sometimes hear, too. It was honestly a pleasure to watch your tutorial.

+Carinae L'étoile Wow, your kind comments made my whole day! I appreciate them so much. And you are very welcome!
Thank you for this video! I love how perfect and simple your instructions are.
Loved the tutorial for the T. N. two pocket folder. You made it so clear! Thanks!
Thanks for actually showing us how to put a travelers notebook together and showing us how to decorate the planner. Everyone shows their planner, but no one shows how to decorate, for Beginners! I will be using my new Cricut for other parts of the planner! Thank you!
Incredible. All my questions answered in one place on dimensions and how-to DIY pocket insert. Thanks so much!
Fantastic and easy tutorial to follow-thanks so much!! I especially love the formula you came up with❤️

Great Video! I appreciate your detailed instructions and the fact you point out what is most important to follow and where the individual can customize. Your camera presence continues to become more relaxed and conversational. Well done.

+Larry Stoecker Thank you so much! And I appreciate you saying that - I'm actually quite introverted and shy in real life, so it makes me feel good that you are seeing progress. I am trying! :)
Thanks for this tutorial. Very easy to follow!!! I wanted to make some some folder pockets for my ring-bound planners! But couldn't find ones that were rather easy to make. I appreciate your sharing this video with us. If I do make one (or more), I will more than likely laminate mine. I would want it to me more durable and last longer. Again thanks so very much!!!
Thanks for showing this tutorial seems super easy x
Fabulous tutorial. Thank you so much!
Thank you for this! It’s Feb 2019. Love it!
This was super-helpful. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Your instructions were clear and easy to follow ..... so much so that I made 2 folders right away and they turned out great! I made Field Note size ones this time and I am happy to know that if I decide to go back to another size TN, I will be able to easily make folders for any size with your formula! Thanks!

+Virginia Bollinger Sweet! You're welcome & I'm glad it worked out so well for you.
I love this! Recently I found some beautiful (one-sided) 12x12 paper but I wasn't sure what to do with it. I wanted to make a traveler's notebook but wasn't sure how I wanted to do it so this is perfect thank you. :)
Going by your formula the pocket size becomes a little screwy. At the end you mentioned for pocket it should be 8.5in for height and 7.5 for width. The inserts for a pocket are usually 3.5 x 5.5. So from the sides if we are folding in .5in from each side then that would leave the final width at 6.5 which would make the folder a width of 3.25 when closed; slightly smaller than normal inserts. Also, for the height, if you want it 5.5in tall, matching the other inserts, then just add 3in to that in length and that 3in is what you will fold up to make your pockets. In the middle it was mentioned that for the pockets we would fold have the length of the given measurements at the end but half of 8.5 is 4.25 giving a really large pocket and also the folder becomes much smaller than the 5.5in for FN insert, so it would actually be a 3in fold instead of exactly half like the regular size. Completed it will give you the 3.5x5.5 insert needed for pocket size. 😃 I guess the regular size all the numbers just work out easier. Anyway, your videos are great bc I love the detail.... this comment is for those who try making the pocket size folder.
Great tutorial!!! Thank you so much❤️🌺🌸
This is a great video for beginners! I didn't think I was going to be able to do it but your instructions were great an I now have several lovely folders!!!

This helped so much! Thanks!
Thank you for sharing this. I just bought one from etsy so I will not be making one just yet. I have the field note size (size folder that I just bought) and plan to make one for my wide one day. So, until then this video will be in my favorites folder. My husband saw my new folder and wondered why I paid for something that can be easily be made so I thank you and my husband thanks you....lol Thank you.

love this!
Great idea tfs👍
Great tutorial! Particularly appreciated the formula :). Just FYI, I have made quite a few of the 6-pocket folder inserts using Pocket Full of Vintage's instruction, using standard US size folders, the 8.5" X 11" ones. You don't need the legal folders to use her method :).
Thank you for this
Hello there. I just made my first Traveler's notebook folder thanks to YOU!. I only made one change, and that is that I made it with two cardstocks back to back (I wanted a pretty inside :) I would like to find a cardstock that is double sided. Thank you for this. :)
Like your video & dimensions for other sizes. 27 September 2020.
Thanks for sharing.

Very helpful 👍🌸🦄💕🧚🏻♂️
Thank you - this is a fantastic tutorial - I wanted one folder and ended up making 14!!! You've made it so easy to follow. I did make a slight adjustment - instead of cutting the lower fold off, I left it and glued the folded part to the other folded part on the side so the whole pocket was open all the way to the edge. Not sure how they'll wear, but I'm thrilled with them and have enough to change them out whenever I want.....and I want to make more!

Arrgh! No size reference for a personal size! Just kidding, I can probably figure it out by myself. Your method looks very easy. Thank you :o)
OMG that's too freaking cute lol.
very helpful ty I'm a new subscriber to yr channel TFS sweetie
Would you by chance have the sizes for a B6?
Thanks for the video. Can I laminate it and use it for personal 6 rings agenda , just make 6 wholes?
Thank you for this great tutorial! I appreciate that your instructions are very easy to understand. I just purchased may books and am trying to figure out what size notebook to buy between the wide and extra wide. Then I will be able to make a folder following your tutorial! What do you think would be the best size? Thanks again!
@thesassypineapple8387

+Marla M It's probably easier to check measurements as the same size notebook can be labeled differently. May books/A5 notebooks are 5"W x 8"H, so your Traveler's Notebook will need to be 8-1/2"H x 11"W, or 8-1/2"H x 5-1/2" when folded. Hope that helps and makes sense! It's easy to make your own, if you're interested; here is my tutorial on that: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mmyutcSHftmYlLQ.html
Nice...tfs

Fab tutorial! I looked in the comments, and didn't see this question... where did you buy the pineapple paper? I love it!!!
This video is awesome! where did you get your paper rounder and do you know where I could find a cheap one?
Great video! Thank you! What Traveler's Notebook do you use?
I was actually searching for the fizkars puncher, looks like you're the only one using the one i want!, couldn't figure out how to move the designs in the thing.. till you turned upside down.. thanks for the help!!! i mean it!!!, can i ask you if is still working and if you recommend it?
Can you do a tutorial on a folder for the Wide journals?
Hi.. Awesome video!!! do you by any chance have the dimensions for a personal sized TN?
Can you make these for the ring bound or disk planners too.if so how would you?
And pineapple paper ;-)
What is the link for the tutorial that you were talking about using legal sized file folders? I happen to have a bunch haha
