DIY Skate Rail - Gasless Flux Core Welding w/ The Everlast MTS 211 Si
In this episode we build a DIY skate rail with the help of Derrick Gough and our very own Mac Hoyland using gasless flux core welding wire. They start off by setting up an oxyfuel torch to cut the base plates, before heading to the chop saw to cut the stand offs for the legs. After all the pieces were prepped they weld it all together using the Everlast MTS 211 Si along with some .030 gasless flux core wire, you can commonly find at hardware stores. With it all welded up they just had to test it out. What have you built with flux core?

That would be a fun build for sure we will have to do some planning on it but we will make sure to do more with flux and 6011!

10-4 good buddy
I imagine a cheap plasma cutter could do the job the torch did 🤔and all of the the build could be done on 120v machine's. 😊 I'm just going by the video description 😊

The machine was plugged in to 120v. And of course a plasma would’ve been a good choice. But we were feeling froggy with a torch.
When cutting pipes like that use a pitch stop
Rock sliders
They should have shown the make of the board slide !!
Can somebody please explain the joke on 7:07 ? Greetings from Germany 😊

guttentag means hello in English (as you know) But it also sounds like “good and tight” in English. So when we tighten something down really tight, I like to say “put the German on it” 😅

How to set up the machine from Mig and gas to a Flux core and no gas?

Just switch out the wire and make sure you are using the right drive roller as well it has ridges compared to the grooved ones for solid wire
