It extracts more color, nutrients, and moisture if you tear up the petals first. I make rose water, but I make it in a cold process, I use the freshest, most fragrant roses from the rose garden I tend to for my grandfather. I shred them into a random container ( and the juice from just plain roses make a great cheek stain. Finger stain too :p ) add some water and use something to mash them up. Then I put a lid on it and shake the heck out of it. Drain it, transfer it, and then dump it on my brothers hair. He doesn't like it because it makes his hair grow too long way too fast.

Add in vitamin e oil if you want it to last way longer. This is a natural preservative so it will preserve it for way longer. It is also very moisturizing and can lighten dark spots or pigmentation making you skin have a light glow.

This is awesome, the only thing I don't like is that I can buy a nice rose water for less than purchasing the roses, good way to make it tho.

tkank you for this DIY! i have been wondering for a long time how can i make flower water at home instead of buying it at the sho, cos i use it as a toner. so i think it is possible to make it with other flowers too, like camomiles, calendula...

So niiiiice! I love using rosewater as a toner. I use the BOTANICS Organic Rosewater toner (Target). It's super amazing. Everyone should try it! Has a little bit of alcohol in it but I have very dry skin & it doesn't dry it out at all. It has about 5 ingredients. :)

If you can't find organic roses you could also just purchase a bottle of rose oil from a health foods store c:

I don't think so... that would simply make green tea water instead which is also good for the skin (hydration, whitening and soothing)

The rose makes it so great - it's anti-inflammatory and calming, so use roses! Doesn't matter what color though.

  • @keliduckett4818

any beauty product made with water must have a preservative added or else it will mold. Natural preservatives like Vit E, grapefruit extract, etc. do not in fact preserve products with water content. Without a preservative this rose water would last maybe 2 days and up to 1 week in the fridge before starting to grow mold or bacteria which is not always noticeable.
