DIY Restoration- Vintage Trunk Coffee Table Makeover | Eshi Jay

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey guys!
I am nowhere near a professional, but I wanted to try my hand at a vintage trunk restoration, and turn it into a coffee table at the same time. Trial and error is a DIY-er's best friend, and so is perseverance!
I want to thank you for the love I've received on my DIYs. It truly motivates me to keep going, and I am grateful for you. :) #diywitheshi

Tip: Set yourself apart from the many flippers out there by including what the piece sold for. Sending us to instagram doesn't doesn't cut it. I love how Lauren at the Furniture Flipping Teacher does it. Fabulous job on this trunk, perfect mix of old and new, love it!

I have a similar trunk, was my Grandfather's from WWII. Your's is in fantastic condition, mine will need to have the tray made, but, I did find the key!!! Can't wait to start working on it, and I think I'm going to make it into a video as well.

Great video, and one I wish I'd seen before tackling my first! Yours caught my eye because it's the same maker/style and paper, along with the same interior box insert. Do you happen to know the brand name? I don't see anything on mine to tell me. Also, I did the exact same thing by accidently locking it and not having a key. My husband was able to fashion a key from another that did the trick, with a little help from a screwdriver! Thanks again, and beautiful work on making your coffee table!

Thanks for watching!! I never saw a brand name when I was doing this, and I've since sold it actually. Can't believe we went through the same lock-picking fiasco 😂

Has anyone tried something like oil or Vaseline, etc coating the trim, enabling me to spray paint the body? It sounds like a great idea. Have you ever heard of that one?

Hi you have done a great job, sad about the damaged lock but overall came out as a neat and clean product. If i had to fix those legs i would have done with 4 bolts straight through those wooden planks for each leg instead of those screws because the legs should be sturdy. Oh yes i would have selected one size bigger bolts and off-course supported with washers.😊

This was really informative and I like the vintage look. Great job! I’ve been trying to figure the best way to install legs to a trunk that I’ve refinished btw great install but where’d you purchase the legs. They seem to be hot commodities and I have a hard time choosing the best pair. Thanks for sharing
