Great video. How well do the 2" olympic plates fit on the 3/4 loading pin? Do you find that it rattles when using the landing pin with a pulley?

Great question…I use Olympic plates on my DIY Cable Crossover with my 3/4” DIY Plate Loading Pins almost every day…with no noticeable rattling at all. Works great as is - and the plates remain stationary on the loading pin. Having said that, I am currently working on a DIY Project (not pulley related) that will use 3/4” nipples and it WILL require some snugness if using Olympic plates. I am still working out the kinks, but in this video i will show how to make a PVC Olympic plate Adapter for 3/4” nipples. Be sure to subscribe to the KZread channel to be notified the moment the video drops. 🙏 Thank you!

Okay. I have included the instructions for how to make an Olympic Plate Adapter for 3/4” Nipples - allowing you to use both Olympic plates (with 2” holes) and (most) Standard Plates (with 1” holes) using the same Loading pin. Easy to make & easy to attach/ unattach. Go to 11:40 of this video for step by step instructions : kzread.info/dash/bejne/eIuh1NGNk7LMfLA.html

That seems amazing, but do you know how much it can hold please? I consider using this for heavy belt squats.

Great question-however I am not a structural engineer so I cannot really answer that question. I have also used it for heavy belt squats, and I think that it can handle whatever you throw at it. Just be sure to adhere to the manufacturer’s weight limit on your eyebolt. 🙏🤘💪

Will welding the eye hook and flange make it stronger?

  • @DesignBuildLift

I believe that you could strengthen the eyebolt by welding. As far as the flange, I would just use a thread locker adhesive . The pipe is steel, but the flange is iron. I am not a welding expert, but I don’t think you can weld steel and iron together.

You from Milwaukee? Seen the Marquette university banner? Did that loading pin 30 years ago and did the same with drilling hole in cap but you can avoid drilling you just get the 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch double female cap get gas nipple with eye bolt any questions I let you know what I did lol

Probably not…when I made this video…DIY was the cheaper option by far. This video was made during ridiculous Covid prices. So, if you can buy for $15- I would just buy….unless you just enjoy making your own stuff. 🤘🙏💪

@@DesignBuildLift i figured covid changed things and made these items more widespread. I like your channel a lot, are you able to make any money from that many views? I'm thinking of starting my own channel, so I'm curious how it works. Thanks for your response.
