DIY Loading Pin

This is the best solution I found for a loading pin. It’s easy to load, protects your plates, and can be made to custom lengths.
Tools needed:
Drill
Pliers
Mitre saw or hack saw
Dremel sanding bit or file
Materials:
1 inch black pipe
1 inch pipe cap
1 inch pipe flange
3/8 x 2.5 inch eye bolt
3/8 nut
3/8 lock washer
3/8 washer
Electrical tape
Loctite thread locker
1.5 pvc (preferably furniture grade)
Optional for chain plate:
2x8 lumber
Screw eyes
Chain
Carabiners or chain quick links
18 inch circular wood (table top)

    How much weight have you had on the pin? I have a loading pin I made out of wood for grip work (I don't go past about 75lbs which it handles perfectly fine but I expect to eventually get to 300+ lbs for lat pulldown and/or abs crunches.

    I’ve had over 300lbs on it for belt squats. I wouldn’t expect the pin to be the thing that fails. Although if I was going to put more than 400 on it I would probably epoxy the caps on both ends of the pipe (which I should probably do anyway)
