Hey, nice tutorial. I was wondering what king of plastic you used for the brim, and also what you would recommend for drawing on dark fabric.
Yo, I appreciate that you included a template in the description. Bigup man!

Hi can you make a video for Flat cap.Tnx
Hopefully you can still answer this but what type of fabric do you use? You really have inspired me to give sewing a try through this video! I purchased a brother sewing machine and I'm really excited to try, but I'm a complete beginner so I'm learning (googling haha) fabrics and what the different types are, a little confusing but I'll get it! But what fabrics should I stick to for this type of hat?
Hey when i get the brim material what should i look for or ask for?
Makin clothing and accessories seem so simple when you see the steps.. I’m about to be a name out here.. those GGs tho.....
Just a suggestion, you should use spray starch and a hat rack to keep the hat in place in order to shape the hat; I've done it restoring some of my snapbacks and it worked pretty well. I use "Niagra" brand starch.
good job dude !! thanx for sharing tutorial !!!!

I know this is an old video, but what settings did you have these at? I am new to sewing and I'm not sure about length and width setting to put it on. Thanks!

Not sure if you mentioned in the vid.. but what type of sewing maching do you use or reccomend.. single needle, double needle etc?? Thanks for the vid
Yo what pressed foot you use on your sewing machine? Every time I get to the brim it keeps messing up my stitching cause my pressed foot can't stitch over the brim.
Do you know where to find the foam material for the front of the mesh trucker hats?
Guys here I leave the link to get the mold / pattern for the 5 panel cap, I created it from other molds and I have perfected it a bit, they must print each image on a4 sheet, it has a cost of 2 dollars since I It has taken work and I think it is worth it, if you want to collaborate with more you have the option of paying more than 2 dollars if you want, I hope it helps you! gum.co/hatpattern
bro i love what you do, do u have pdf file of that pattern?
nice,all ur videos are great
Please make video on snapback panel or strap back cap
where did you get that magnetic sewing guide?
Where did you find the pattern? Did you made it? How can I create one? I downladed yours but my head is bigger, I need to make my own pattern with my own measures. Can you make a video about it? Also one about the bucket hat pattern.
How would yu make the 4 holes on the side panels
Best video EVER!!! thanks dude...

I've been trying to do this FOREVER. But I kept getting stuck halfway through. This helped soooo much dude
Should I use knit or a woven fabric for the panels ? P.S. You are the man !
Wow to dope !!!!
Do you have a link to where I could order the buckle? All the ones at my craft store look different from that and I want the classic 5-panel type buckle.
wow this awesome
Thanks for the great videos! Which would you say is more difficult to make, this or a bucket hat?

***** Good to know, thanks. Scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the easiest- how difficult would you say making them are? Trying to determine if I can complete this, I can follow instructions, but don't have much sewing experience. Thanks again for all the videos, going through them is fun.
where do you get the plastic clip???
which fabric is best for making panel?
Well done
Yo, this is dope but i been wondering something. How much pieces of clothing do make besides the the piece of clothing in the tutorials?

What about the side holes?
Where can I buy the snap and the brim ???
if you could make a tutorial on how to make a regular snapback that would be really dope!
hi! can i find the template somewhere?
Question Love bug do I have to do the back strips inside my hat or can I just fold down the extra fabric and sew it down? please let me know more info and also is there a way I can make the hat with out the opening in the back?
@kenandrewdaily
10 жыл бұрын
Yes, you could. You would need to modify the template, instead of a curve on the top panel, you would fill it in.
Dear Ken, I have now made two caps using this pattern, and even though your your tutorial is flawless the pattern is to small for my head. Would it be possible for you to remake the pattern and make it have adjustable sizes? Regards, Merlin
Hey. I see a lot of pics on instagram with people putting different design on the tongue of their shoes. Do you possibly know how to do that? If so, can you make a video about it. Will be greatly appreciated.
but when printing templates q the sack size please leave small q

Hey bro im a big fan i've watched all your vids since day one your so creative like I wouldn't of been able to do most of the things you do but keep your work up and you really need to make a brand haha but it's up to you but i was wondering for the new season I know your gunna focus on sweats and go back to hats and winter things like that well can you try making drop crotch pants or aka harem pants that'll be really awsome but yea keep up your great work and peace.
oh right i see, nice, cant wait to see what it looks like on head.
How long did this take in real time?
@kenandrewdaily is capsupplyco still in business? I've tried to email them and havent heard back. Could you suggest anywhere else to get cap components?
Whats the name of the material you used for the stiffening strips on the inside? Also on most 5panels i have, they all have the small rim around the edge of the brim. Any ideas on how to make that?
@kenandrewdaily
10 жыл бұрын
I believe I used a nylon material. You don't have to use the exact type of material, it just has to be soft. Yeah that's just a strip that's stitched onto the brim.
my computer printer is broke and i have to use a library computer and it wont let download the drop box is there any way you could email me the pattern ?? would that work ??
this is amazing! you sew so much better than I do haha, but def will try making these :) hope they turn out ok haha!! if you don't mind asking, what was and where did you get that silver thingy that you put on the machine so you can make those perfect lines? thanks!!

Débora C. It was 4 magnets stacked onto each other, I use it as a guide while I sew the brim.
I just want to say I love your tutorials and I appreciate the fact that you're sharing your knowledge and encouraging people to be more creative, rather than just hoarding all your tips and tricks like some other people do. I'm about to start learning how to sew, and my mom had bought a Janome "Sew Mini" sewing machine a few years ago to sew for her scrapbooking, but has never opened it. Do you know anything about this machine? And do you think it would be a good machine for me to start off on?
@kenandrewdaily
10 жыл бұрын
First of all, thanks for the love! I haven't personally worked or used that machine so I cannot give you some advice on it. But you got to remember that a machine is a machine no matter what type it is. Since you're a beginner it seems like it would be enough.

Alex Peacock They don't have the plastic that I used anymore. I ordered from www.capsupplyco.com/ after that.
Dude!!! This is so sick bruh!! I'm most deff subscribing and liking. Amazing tutorial but do you know how to make a hat have structure in front (the section where the logo would go) so it won't look so floppy?
@kenandrewdaily
10 жыл бұрын
You would need to add a stiff fabric like polyester on the backside of the front panel to make it stand by itself.
Most machines have little line right next to the dog feed that measure 1/4 inch 1/2 inch and so on to 1 inch sometimes more for seam allowance. This is just so you won't have to draw on the seam allowance, it'll save time. A bias is a piece of fabric cut on a 45 degree angle to the grain of the fabric so it can stretch. Just some Knowledge for you. As Always Great Video. The 5 Panel Looks Dope. Oh where'd you get your magnetic sewing guide?

what type of fabric did you use?

Super awesome video but I just had a few helpful hint from one sewer to another. 1if you have your pins be perpendicular to the edge of the fabric instead of parallel it makes it easier to pull them out as you sew and if you accidentally miss one and it goes under the foot it won't cause as much damage. 2 DO NOT USE YOUR FABRIC CUTTING TOOLS TO CUT ANYTHING BUT FABRIC it is amazing how fast paper can blunt the blades and its easier than you think to break your scissors trust me I've had it happen. 3 iron everything even if you don't think it needs it iron it anyway if you can't put the iron directly on it put it on a low heat keep it an inch or two above the fabric and steam it instead. I just want to help I'm not trying to be mean you don't even have to listen if you don't want to its just what I've learned from experience.
@kenandrewdaily
9 жыл бұрын
Emma Ashby Thanks for the advice! This video was made when I first started sewing (about 2 years ago). So I didn't know much. But since then, I've learned to switch my pin's orientation, use my rotary cutter only on fabric and always use an iron.

What plastic did you happen to get at Home Depot? Ive been searching for the right type of brim material but havent found one yet.
@kenandrewdaily

Trace Corley Synthetic plastic or something like that, I wouldn't use it though. I would go here for supplies like snaps and brims: www.capsupplyco.com/
Hey great videos, have you tried using buckram fabric for the inner side of the front panel?
@kenandrewdaily
10 жыл бұрын
No I haven't, why?
@Cloudvill
10 жыл бұрын
***** I've read that when you wet it and shape it, then dry it, it will harden and hold that shape. I've seen it on the inner two front panels of some 6-panel snapbacks. Saw the info about it on some millinery videos. I would like to try it, but I sold my sewing machine! gotta wait till I can buy one again X-(

@kenandrewdaily
10 жыл бұрын
I haven't come across the actual material, but i'm pretty sure there's many alternatives to that. It seems like that material would be too expensive to slap on every single 5-panel made.
@Cloudvill
10 жыл бұрын
***** well not necessarily because you can get a yard of buckram for like 3-4 bucks are yard at joanns or online, that yard would prob be enough for dozens of hats, but you are right that there are probably alternatives, and either way, your 5-panel that you made holds a great form without it. If i ever get around to trying it out, I'll let you know
but you can you tell me where I can find please would greatly appreciate it
