Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is a detailed DIY video showing you how to replace the front brakes & rotors for a W204 series C300 4matic Mercedes Benz. This vehicle is a 2013 model but the same procedure can be followed for years 2008 thru 2014. The Callahan kit appears to be a little better quality.

Great videos on front and rear brakes jobs! Now, do you have to bleed the brakes after replacing the rotors and pads?

Not unless you have a line break.

Thanks for the very helpful video. I am in the process of doing the brakes on my wife's car right now and none of the C300 brake job videos seem to have the same calipers as hers. Yours, however, does, and I am following the same procedure as you. I have one question, however. Around the 7:30 mark, after you remove the retaining clip, you go to loosen the brake pad from the caliper piston. Exactly where did you insert your screwdriver? Between the brake pad sensor and the caliper piston? I have tried this, and my caliper does appear to give the brake pad some room, but then a few seconds later, when you move to the top of the caliper to take if off the "hook", it just sort of falls away easily. Mine does not. I feel like if I keep forcing it, I'll break something. Am I missing something?

I took a thin screwdriver and pushed it right between the old brake pad and the rotor. Both will be replaced so it is ok. You just want to make enough space to loosen everything up. Did I answer your question properly?

@@JohnCanFixAnything Absolutely. I realized after some struggle that my guide pins were rusted so badly that they are fused to the boots and the boots are fused to the holder. That's why my calipers couldn't come off - zero give. So, the last mechanic that worked on these brakes obviously never even bothered to grease the pins. I'm in the process of inserting new pins and boots. Thanks again for the video and the clarification.

@@JohnCanFixAnything I compressed my caliper piston all the way and did both front and rear pads and rotors and for some reason I have spongy brake pedal? If I press the brakes the 2 and 3 time it feels a lot better

I just changed mine on my 2013 C300 4 matic. The brake pedal sinks to the floor now 😟. Any suggestions?

Sounds like maybe air in the lines. Make sure the brake fluid is topped off and then bleed each brake caliper individually. Keep checking the brake fluid level as you do it and add when needed. Check the reservoir cap as well.
