    Your video series was amazing and got me start to finish. my timing got messed up on the right bank. Initially when I was attempting to take off the harmonic balancer bolt, my R1 camshaft rotated an unknown number of times. I tried to rest as best I could but when I got it all assembled it threw the code for that position. Also would not stay running. When I broke everything back down my main chain was still in the correct position but all 4 cams were flipped 180 with the alignment marks facing down. Like an inexperienced person I figured if the main chain was set all I had to do was to remove the cams and flip them back into position. My left side went in and set right, but both right side are not setting in. Any advice to keep me from breaking the valves?

    Thank you for that video. I did the belt replacement already and could not figure out why the drive was not working correctly. I compared it with the old belt and it appeared to be similar. Even had contacted Husqvarna USA and they insisted I bought the correct belt. Well, the earlier models of this mower use a 21" and the later I guess use a 22". That is my problem. While it has a lot of steps, the belt do last a very long time plus I didn't find it complicated. Other than that the mower has been holding up well for over 12 years. And yes, it is amazing how much junk gets in the front area. Anyway, thanks again, great walk through video.

    Hello John, your video is informative. I am using a Mazda CX-9 2015 and facing the water pump leak issue. Mechanic told me to change water pump, thermostat, radiator and timing chain. I could not understand, if I change those, will it be ok to drive another 2 to 3 years.

    Hello John, I just purchased this remote for my SL2 and I am very grateful to have your video but I have a question. I’m set up using WiFi to transfer images to my IPhone. If I set up the remote can I still easily transfer image to my iPhone or do I have to reset it to let me transfer imager to my phone all over again. I’m not good with electronics and I had to go to a camera store to get it paired with my phone. Thank you for an excellent tutorial.

    Good video, except for one thing, you should not have ran the ground wire from the 2nd battery to the 1st battery through the current sensor. That sensor is a hall effect current sensor, which means it can measure current in both directions (it actually measures the magnetic field created by the current, and the direction of the current affects the field strength) Lets follow the charging current path for the 2nd battery. It goes from the alternator, to the 2nd battery, then through the ground wire to the 1st battery, then through the factory ground wire to the engine, then back to the alternator. The way you ran the ground through the sensor, it's going to measure the current (lets say 30amps) in one direction, then as the current returns through the factory ground wire, it will measure those 30 amps in the opposite direction. The resulting reading will be the differential current (or net current) of 30 -30, which is 0 amps. This means the sensor will be under reporting the alternator output to the computer (as any current the second battery is absorbing will always be 0), which could lead to overdriving the alternator and overcharging the batteries, which will reduce their life. The opposite would be true if you ran the ground wire through the sensor in the other direction. Put simply, the 30 amps would flow through the sensor twice in the same direction, and you would read 60 amps. The sensor would be over reporting the current, and you would then under charge your batteries. The solution would be to remove the ground wire from the sensor. Now it will read the 30 amps as it runs through the factory ground wire on its path back to the alternator.

    Great video , believe it or not I am doing the same thing to an older Husq. 2014 I think. It’s in very bad. Condition , the owner didn’t take care of it , instead he give it to me. So I’m restoring it to not perfect conditions but a lot better than it was. Everything was taken completely apart inside and out , and I’m in the process of rebuilding the topside of the motor. That was a great idea about the wheels , going to try that out in just a min. Thanks reach out if you have any other ideas like that.

    He did a great job and I love the attention to detail but .... There was no need to buy bolts or make a hole in the main battery cap.. the drawing on top of the cap shows u if u don't find it obvious that the (red cap ) on top of it is hiding the extra post u need to connect the extra cable without the need to make any holes or take the cap of tthe main battery off.. which makes alot of sense ... If u got a spot design for a extra battery the cap of the main battery is designed with and. Extra positive post. 😊

  • @Islasian4life
    @Islasian4life5 ай бұрын

    That red cap covers a stud you can use for jumping your truck so you don't have to remove the cover that's covering the positive bus bar and battery positive post. I believe older models had a red flip up cover over the positive post for this purpose. Symbols on the lid says to not pressure wash it/symbol of a battery and closing the lid. You can connect the battery cable to that, but you have to remove the cover, unbolt that stud to connect your extra cable. You will still need to notch out the sides for the cable to exit so the lid will close properly. That's how I connected my cable for the dual battery setup.

    Great video series! 5 years later and still the best video's for this project! I did the water pump and timing chain set on a 2013 CX-9, very small changes for the 2013 since your video came out, such as the timing chain is a inverted tooth chain. Very much appreciate all the tool tips, access issues, torque specs and part numbers as I followed along doing the job. Thank you!

    Somewhat confusing on the engine side versus the filter mount. Oil that is outbound from the engine should be inbound to the filter mount. Oil that is outbound from the filter mount should be inbound to the engine.
