    Good morning, Martha! Oh, I am delighted to know that the process was as easy for you as it was for me. Thank you so much for letting me know! So, last week I brought my flocked tree from storage in my attic over the past year and it held up really really well. It did not need to be flocked again and it only made a small amount of a mess, no more than my garland makes. I think if you go to my stories I have a story up on how the tree looks this year, but if it’s not there anymore I’ll make another one so you can see how it faired. Thank you so much for watching, and I hope you and your family have a happy Thanksgiving!❤️🤗xo

    Caution...the flock powder contains a water activated adhesive. You don't want to inhale that powder into your moist lungs. The vendor recommends misting the powder as it falls before it lands on the tree. That creates a lovely falling snowflake buildup effect on the needles rather than looking like lumps of shaving foam. Finish by lightly misting the entire tree to ensure all the powder adhesive gets activated and will stick. Be careful of your footing because the wet powder is very slippery underfoot. The flocked tree has a slimy feeling while its wet, but when completely dry, the flock feels very crispy and pleasant to the touch. Do not flock anything in your bathtub or shower if you mean to rinse the residue down the drain. The adhesive can clog the pipes. Shake the tree after the initial application. The flock sheds very little afterward. The less you manhandle the flocked tree, the longer the flocking will last. That's another reason to flock after the lights are strung on the tree. You can always give it another coat of flock in later years.

    This looks really Nice. I paid to have this done last year and, thought it was overpriced. Lot of flock had to be cleaned up once we got it in the house but, the large plastic bag underneath the water bucket made it an easy clean up. I'll try this method next year, This year I did a 8 min job, I got off youtube all you need is white spray paint and, white textured paint or Popcorn patched spray. I actually used red paint instead of white with the textured and, I liked it. Toooo easy for a tree that only stays up a few weeks. The textured spray gave it a crystal look.

    Hi great video, I'm looking to do this soon In the next few weeks to my trees. Question, did the flock fall off a lot once it dried and you brought it inside? I have two dogs and I've read it is hazardous to dogs so that is the only thing that worries me

  • @MissJustinaMarie

    @MissJustinaMarie

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi, Abigail! Thanks so much! So the flocking powder does fall off, but it wasn’t a whole lot. Here’s the thing, if your dogs are going to bump into the tree or if their tails will hit the tree, then more flock will come off. If your tree is going to be I disturbed, it shouldn’t be too messy. I would say that you may want to have your dogs in their crate or away from the tree when you decorate it - or have your vacuum super handy, just to be safe. For me, I gave the tree a few good shakes before bringing it in, then put it in a pace where nobody would bother it and I thought it was fine. Also, make sure you get in there with the water, because that’s what makes the powder stick. Sorry for the long response but I hope it was helpful. Thank you for watching!

    I believe it should be fine with LED lights, as they don't get hot. Not sure about older lights, so I would err on the side of caution. I will say, though, that the tree I flocked is prelit and I've had no problems with heat or anything like that.

    Hi, Wendy! I did do the wreaths in the shower and I used a catcher thingy over the drain. It worked pretty well, but yes, I had to be more careful so as not to clog the drag. The reason why I thought to do it inside was bc it was cold outside, (and with the water and the cold weather, I did end up getting sick!) So, the shower was what I thought would work if you have to do it inside due to weather. Best option is to do it outside in October before the cold weather comes! Thank you for watching! 🙏🏼
