2021 Update Video here: • How To Flock a Christm...
Learn how to make your snow dreams come true in two easy steps. You control how “snowy” your tree is with flocking powder, water and a sifter. I prefer a “blizzard just came through” look but you can have a “gentle snowfall” look as well!

    Home Depot has beautiful flocked trees for $200-$400!! But I didn’t want to buy a new one this year, I just bought one last year.. so I’m going to stick this this idea. So thank you so much!! Everything looks amazing! I don’t really like the stuff in the cans, I notice it tends to fall off a lot. 😞 so I want to try the flocking powder stuff.

    Hi we flocked our 7.5 ft. last week …. we let it dry for 2 days we would shake as much loose powder off the tree as we could …. then bringing it in the house from the garage was a big mess White powder everywhere !!!!! Every time l go to put ribbons or ornaments on the tree powder falls everywhere and the dust from it is in the air l have to wear a mask just to decorate it !!! Me personally l wouldn’t do this again and we followed box directions and watched videos after videos on how to do this …. So l hope the ones who do this have better luck with it then we did …..

    Holy moly! I’m sorry you had such a bad experience! I wonder if there was something wrong with the batch of flock you got? I definitely have a little bit of flock come off when I move it but it’s mostly just on my clothes where it sticks to me. I definitely do not have to wear a mask or have it fall off when I decorate it. I’m so sorry this happened. What a pain!

    After the tree is dried after flocking, can you spray with a clear coat product to help the flocking last longer?

  • @Clutching.My.Pearls

    @Clutching.My.Pearls

    Жыл бұрын

    Personally I wouldn't, it may make the flocking brittlle or hard. The flocking is pretty durable and if you lose a little at the end of the season, just re-flock the next year, that's all I do.

    I just flocked my tree but I only used the snow spray and even though its dry it keeps coming off everytime I touch it, it's like powdery and it comes off, I was doing some research and saw that spray adhesive will make it stay on what do uou recommend because I feel like if I start decorating like that all my decorations are going to be stained in white..thank you

    Oh gosh! I hate that it’s coming off on you! So this flocking powder that I used after the snow spray gets sticky when it gets wet then it dries hard. I’ve never tried spray adhesive on the snow spray but I would guess it’s worth a try!

  • @FearlessDIY

    @FearlessDIY

    Hi Angelina! I have never used a heat gun so I can’t speak to the safety of that. It is flame retardant when dry but I would be concerned about melting the fake tree or possibly catching it on fire. As far as the elmers glue, I have never tried that! Let me know how it goes if you do!

    How messy is the tree to store after use? Do the flocking pretty much stay on or does it all fall off when taking it down and storing.

  • @FearlessDIY

    @FearlessDIY

    2 жыл бұрын

    So, I wrap the tree with either plastic wrap(just like Saran Wrap) or I use an old sheet and tape the sheet together to transport and store it. Otherwise a little bit will float down on your floor. I’ve used my flock tree for years and it still looks great!

  • @FearlessDIY

    @FearlessDIY

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Marina! How tall is your tree? If it is a foot then a 2 lb bag will be more than enough. I think maybe the number got left out! It really depends on how much flock you like. For a five foot tree I used 3 lbs. I bought two 2 lb bags and only used half of one. For my seven foot tree and two 3 ft trees, I probably used 1/3 of my 25 lb bag.
