I love that you instantly shared areas of improvements for your next time/project and included them in the video. 👍
I don't have a cat but I love and appreciate all the effort, realness and quality you guys put into your videos. So I watch anyways :) Keep up the awesome work guys. I hope you two get your own TV show someday!

That's so sweet. Thanks so much 💜💙
FYI they actually make a PVC base that allows you to screw the pipe down. That would completely negate the need to cut out the wooden insert.
Ladies, shortly after you made the video, about a year ago. I followed your directions and made the post like yours. My cats love it. Everyday, several times a day they use it. Lot of times when they get up, they actually wait in line to use it. Sometimes they'll use it at the same time, one on one side one on another side. Very practical, will give years of use. I now plan on making one for my lady friend for Christmas and one for my daughter for Christmas. They both have rescue cats, friend has 3, daughter has 4 A few years ago, my daughter saw a kitten struggling out in the middle of this pond, a good size pond, here in Florida, my daughter knew this pond had gators and her boyfriend insisted she not go in. SOME SUB--HUMAN THREW THAT CAT IN. Pond was over her head my daughter went in with her clothes on and saved this kitten. I am very proud of my daughter. She is the manager of the grooming salon of PETCO, in The Villages. The kitten is solid white and she is stunning. Way to go Crystal!

Thanks this was really helpful! Because I'm getting a new pet cat next friday
You ladies rock! Thanks for this!
Wonderful work! So neat & durable & beautiful too😃👍 Big thanks from Egypt 🇪🇬 🌷💐
I like the pvc idea...I"m looking for cat condo...you also on a rebuild apply much more glue all the way up...cats can tear that rope or carpet apart!
im gonna try on this on my actual drain PVC pipes protruding out of our kitchen. thanks for this! subbed
I don’t have a cat but very good quality videos. Keep it up. One day I hope to see you giving a close view of all the tools that you have on the wall behind you. That will give me an idea of what are all tools i I need to have to be an efficient diy guy.. thanks
Nice efficient shop, very impressive. Nice tools! Glue and rope is a nice idea. I am very worried about my cats encountering staples or screws with their claws or teeth and hurting themselves.
Well done ladies 👍
Great video. I love the fact you talked about how you would do it differently……
Home Depot and Lowes will cut pipe and wood for free with purchase.
You want to press down the loops of rope, because trust me, it'll get pushed down anyway. Make it all tight before you go too far. It takes pressure off the glue and leaves fewer gaps with age.
Wow, your work area is soooo neat and organized. I feel like a slob now. :-). Great ideas, Thank you!!
Thank you very much.
Though 7 months old still a great video helping people out. If you can do tou remember how tall your pipe was and how much Sisal rope you used. I'm hoping to make my bengal an 8ft scratch/climbing post and dont want to over or under buy the amount of rope Thanks

Hi! It's about 23" tall and we used almost 50' of rope. Good luck with the project!

Hi loved your video, I’m about to try it but I have a question, how thick is the wood inside the PVC?
@MotherDaughterProjectsDIY
4 жыл бұрын
It was a 2x6, so 1-1/2 thick.
I have a large support pillar in my room and I want to turn it into a cat scratch post, will any rope and hit glue do?
@frostdragon64

I believe the rope material is called sisal.
Great DIY cat post, definitely want to try this out. Quick question though, what's the thickness of the wood used to insert into the tubes? Thanks :)

Thanks! It's a 2x6 piece of wood so it would be 1-1/2" thick. -Steph
what glue would be safe to put fabric or rope on my kitten ladder thanks
Hi, as an owner of two baby elephants, oops sorry two tom kittens that have grown, I think you will need a heavier base plate to help prevent it toppling over. I have 2 shop bought scratch posts, which when jumped on always topple over till I fixed a larger base to it.
I would of cut some small lines along side of felt to make it easier if by myself,also would do more glue,to make it last longer.
Hello where can i get plush fabric for cat tower to recover wooden parts
Pretty kitty
excellent job
love the idea, a taller cat post is best.
can i use 0,11''/3mm rope diameter ?
Wow,,,good Ideias
Excellent
Thankyou, this is usefull
Great video! Thanks for sharing it. We wanna try it, although we have a question: how thick is the wood of the base? And what about the diameter? Many thanks!

Thanks! The wood round? It's 1in. x 12in. If you are asking about the wood we put inside the PVC pipe, it's a 1-1/2in. thick, 3.042 diameter to fit inside the 3" pvc. We have links to everything on our website: bit.ly/mdpcatpost

@@MotherDaughterProjectsDIY , thank you so much for the reply! Yes, I was wondering about the thickness of the rounded wood base, because it should weight enough to give stability for the scratcher itself + not swinging while the cat is scratching it! I tried to open the link where the information about the material is (Home Depot link), however, unfortunately, the access is denied. Once again, thank you so much for sharing the DIY and the information!

Hmm, that's strange. Here is the link to the round we used: www.homedepot.com/p/1-in-x-12-in-x-1-ft-Pine-Edge-Glued-Panel-Round-Board-ZPRLR0112/205482871?irgwc=1&cm_mmc=afl-ir-1241143-456723-&clickid=XvXwOTSWOxyOWqJwUx0Mo38JUkEW2Y3p1SSqyI0
How did you know how much rope to purchase? What if you run out of length before you reach the top?
@MotherDaughterProjectsDIY
2 жыл бұрын
We didn't. If we didn't have enough we would have just bought another roll and added to this.
nice!!
Was the post solid?
Great video👍 what a diameter of a rope you used?
@MotherDaughterProjectsDIY

3/8"
Now that it’s been a while since you made this video I’m wondering how you like the scroll saw? I made a similar thing to mount to the wall as a step onto a cat shelf and scratcher.

Love the scroll saw! It’s one of our favorite tools!
Great
NO ONE HAS THE CIRCULAR WOOOOOD
could you make a video making a 5 tier tree out of PVC or furniture grade PVC. I want to make one but want to make sure i know exactly how long the legs should be. love your videos !
What about a toy to bat around
Making this was more expensive than buying a similar size or even larger one.
Very creative, but for all the cost of these materials you could buy one on Amazon cheaper
Cool... ( INDONESIA )
Hot glue will not hold the rope well. Cats claws will pull that out in no time.
🤦♀️You can be 6 montha to a year before animals come to accept each other. They learn to tolerate one another.
Mmm....Not tall enough.
