How To Make Easy Cat Scratching Post With PVC Pipes, Rope And Hot Glue

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

So my fluffy destroyed old cat tree and insisted for new one. About 20eur and some hours off from sunday and she got new cat tree. I had thought about buying a cat tree, but around 20 eur there was nothing good to choose from. Since I like to do everything myself, I bought the materials and made it myself.
Material list:
1x D110-1000mm sewer pipe
1x D110-250mm sewer pipe
1x D110/110 sewer pipe triangle
3x D110 sewer pipe cups
1x D110 sewer pipe 90 angle
1x D110/110 sewer pipe coupler
1x 6mm x 60m rope (around pipe is about 36cm so if you want make 1m scratch post you need 100cm/0,6cm= 166.7 x 36cm= ~6000cm = 60m of rope
1x 30x30x1.2 cm plywood for first step
1x 40x40x1.2 cm plywood for cat bed +4x 39x4x1,2 cm plywood for bed walls +1x 40x40x2 foam cushion + 1m artificial fur fabric
1x 35x35x2.6 cm plywood for base
some screws and glue sticks

Good luck with your scratch post. :) my cat use it every day. Sometimes lazy way - sleeping on that middle shelf and scratching nails without getting up. I was using hot glue for every round of rope, so if cat destroy rope, it does not unwind all the way. My build is good only in corner, because its quite high and base cant provide stability. Need to redesign litle bit. Probably cut round circle in base and post tube through. Or put round plywood in tube , screw around and then screw to base. :)

a great cat tree. we have one like the one your cat destroyed, but need something bigger/taller, to accommodate more than one cat. i am a great one for not finishing projects, but you make this one look very doable. i think i can do something like this. of course, it may take me more than 9-1/4 minutes. ;-0 thanks for the video instructions and the list of supplies and tools.
