    Hi Great vid. I have a normal key start generator and a smart controller MPPT150/100-TR. Could I link my generator to the controller using the V2 Autogen to automatically start my generator when my lithium batteries drop to the manufacturers low level recommendation?

    Hi Pumpkin Eater. You surely can! Most importantly is also knowing when to stop the generator and the Victron can send the signal to the V2 for that.

    We have used the kzread.infoUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

    I think this is great product. I would love to see this product being assembled on the more common "inverter generators" of 1000 watts or 2000 watts size (that would be a selling point for me and I'm sure for a lot of people as well). As there are 3000 watts generator with remote switch already in the market but no remote controled smaller size generators. I searched everywhere for small generator with remote control but I didn't find any in the market except yours (some DIY videos in YT I have seen are too technical for my liking, also not as good of a solution, and I don't have time to go deep into electronics to solve this issue and do trial and error unfortunately, Im looking for an easy solution). I hope you make video demonstration of your product on 1000 or 2000 watts inverter generators. I have your channel on my notification list and your website on favorite but I'm hesitant to buy without demonstration video of this product on an inverter generator size 2000 watts or smaller. Such video will give us confidence on its exact configuration and operation step by step on inverter generators of the mensioned sizes. So no guess work needed or uncertainty.

    Hello @Mansur. Our controllers can be fitted to any generator type or size. Although it must be equipped with an electric starter motor. If you are referring to small 1000watt inverter types with a pull rope start, then this(or any other product) will not be able to auto start the generator. It is not limited to Generators. The V2 AutoGen has also been fitted to petrol engine air compressors, petrol and diesel engine water pumps and other standalone engines. As long as it has a starter motor, the V2 AutoGen can auto start and stop the engine. With or without choke on petrol engines, fuel injected, LPG conversions or decompression levers on diesel engines. So rest assured, we have a solution! The V2 is also customisable according to the application. Can receive a trigger to auto start from an ATS on mains power loss, pressure switches, water level sensors, battery banks, solar charge controllers etc. The sky is the limit!

    @@JM-yx1lm You do realise that what you are asking for is a small generator with No electric starter to have a remote start option? The reasons why small inverter type Generators are Small, is because the manufacturer needed to create a product that is lighter, smaller and more compact. They designed it without a starter motor and lead acid starter battery for those reasons.

    Very cool and I have cellular phone, android. But there is no grid in many places with internet so how can this connect unless it has a cell service subscribed in to the controller. Like those little security cameras, you must have cable or a mobile hot-spot which must be connected/activated for use. We know things dont just 'connect' to the internet without a sim card and subscription.

    Thanks for sharing. I have a MGC100 that i am trying to setup on my Champion 100110 but cannot figure out all the wiring yet. I have the crank (starter), b-, and b+ but cannot make sense of the other 3 wires needed. I currently made my own setup remotely in the garage to start the outdoor generator by duplicating the current onboard switch on the generator but want to use the MGC100 instead. Any thoughts? I think the EM Stop would be the one of the other three to stop the engine which leaves me with 2 remaining wires. The generator has a 6-pole combination switch that controls it all.

Would be a cool feature, although I guess most folks would just be using the generator w devices plugged directly into the generator and would have it running the entire time.....

    We have a pull start generator with an off switch, we use it to run a well on a lease property we have cattle on. It’s 30 miles one way from headquarters. We go down in the mornings Monday, Wednesday, Friday to feed and check cattle and to turn the generator on to fill up our overhead tank which feeds the water trough. After 8 hours we drive back down to turn the generator off. It’s not economical as you can imagine. Is there a way to put a timer off switch or a timer valve on the fuel line so that after 8-10 hours the generator will shut off?

    Hello Travis, yes that is easily done with a 12v programmable digital timer. Set it for X amount of time to trigger. Some models have an onboard relay which will shutdown your generator. Fairly inexpensive. If your generator had an electric starter, then with an AutoGen controller, everything would have been automated to start and stop when needed.

    The V2 monitors a battery bank, if the voltage falls below a set threshold it will start the generator. Example: If you apply a 12v signal to the monitoring pin #10 and #12 via your relay, when the relay cuts the connections and no longer feeds 12v to those pins, the V2 will start your generator. When V2 receives 12v again on #10 and #12, it will kill the engine.

    What are you using for the choke circuit? Does that gen have some kinda electronic choke or did you rig up some solenoid to switch it on and off with the v2 signaling? Im going to have to design a circuit that will hold off the starting sequence for a few seconds while the "choke" presses on a propane priming button to fill the carb with propane in order to start.. no physical choking necessary, you just have to prime the system for 5 seconds then immediately hit the starter so the propane will continue to flow with vacuum. Which aitomatically shuts if the gen shuts off.. im guessing the 5v circuit on the v2 can be setup like this maybe or will i have to make a little timer circuit that will pop on if power goes out then tell the v2 to start sequence..??

  • @wadebrewer7212

    @wadebrewer7212

    Жыл бұрын

    I think I figured it out. Looking at your V6....using the ac inputs and a NC relay, snagging a power source (have to figure out what the 2 wire circuit on Sol Ark requires) for the coil side....run any ac power to the contact sides of the relay then to your controller on the AC input. When the Sol Ark calls for generator, it would close its relay completing the circuit, activating the relay coil, opening the contacts on the relay. Your controller would see that break, then know to start up the generator. When the Sol Ark is satisfied....it opens its relay turning the relay back to NC....your controller now has AC...then knows to stop the gen set. If you see another way....or have a controller actually set up to support a 2 wire start from inverter...let me know, please.

    will the generator automatically shut down when batteries are at full charge?

  • @DCAutogen

    @DCAutogen

    3 ай бұрын

    There are a few ways to approach this. If your inverter/charger has a programmable dry contact relay, this can be programmed to send a start and stop signal to AutoGen according to battery bank state of charge. If this is not available, you would need to add our DC current sensor which will calculate when to shutdown the generator by observing the tail current drop during the Absorbtion stage of charging. When current falls below a preset value, AutoGen controller will shutdown the generator. It does not calculate state of charge though.

    we are interested in installing a 100 amp hr 12V lithium battery in our travel trailer. Our plan is to use a small inverter generator with command start to maintain the battery and power appliances. The priority power draws are a 12V dc fridge that requires approximately 600W per day and the blower on our propane furnace. Lighting is all LED. The battery should service this load overnight and it would be desirable to have the generator to auto start to maintain the battery while we are away from the trailer. Will the controller integrate with the generator's factory command start and also allow me to manually start the generator when we need to power larger appliances such as our AC? Most campgrounds also only allow generators to operate from 10am-6pm so there would also need to be a way to prevent the generator from auto starting during this timeframe in some instances. Sorry if this post showed up twice.
