Tip. Cut part of the base out and replace with larger hole mesh. Use as adult holder for breeding egg scatterers. Eggs fall straight into tank. Simply lift box out and place in next tank for easy relocation with no netting, marbles or lost eggs.

I know at this point, the post is a couple years old. I just wanted to add something. You do NOT have to let super glue gel cure after use. You can actually use and even do repairs underwater with super glue gel. No mess and it cures instantly

Wow you use window screen for a fry box. I’m trying to build a fry box and I happen to work at a huge window and door manufacturer so I can easily get access to screen!!

Reckon this would work with green scouring pads/filter mesh instead of buying fly screen? Just trying to think of using stuff lying around

The water will get a bit stagnant and polluted without the holes and the fry are not likely to survive

Go swimming, or take a long bath. You lose more skin cells in the water, so the dead cells with super glue on them will fall off.

I just wait for it to dry but I have superglued under water before and saw no ill effects

I’m here to make a jail for my bully goldfish. He’s been chasing and nipping everyone when I feed them. I’m going to try this, thanks! P.S if anyone has any tips on dealing with a bully goldfish at feeding time let me know :)… I was thinking of separating him at feeding times in this box only for maybe a week or two and then trying to feed him with everyone else afterwards. Going to see if that works!

Best tip is to put food in the 2 furthest corners of the tank so he can have one side and the others can have the other

huh? that is NOT a breeder box. the female can still eat her fry. no idea what the point of this actually is.
