    I am currently in the process of building a 2x12 cab and yours by far is my most favourite go to video series for every single thing. Every other video titled "diy guitar cab" is some dood working in his dad's massive workshop loaded with all kinds of tools claiming to have done it in just a couple of hours in a super fast video alongside some generic metal track thrown in to make it even more annoying than they already are. Thanks for going into the detail of every thing and the hidden pitfalls involved in the entire process.

    I cheated this year and started with a little bit of one. Going full on Wyatt Earp this time! I should have a video up over the next day or so that it'll be front and center on. Keep up the good work!

    Great job!! I'm actually building my own cab and I just saw your video. Quick question,,, What size is the wood you glued on the front to make it thiker and back support for the baffle?

  • @TelepathicTraffic

    @TelepathicTraffic

    It's approx a 1x2 piece of pine. Then I believe we cut it down a bit until it looked proportional. Good luck man.

    most box builders opt for thicker stock/and or extra bracing for the baffles. i guess they think the big round speaker holes, odd vent holes and large span need stiffening. what do they know.

    +channelcat I wouldn't want to use any thicker materials this thing is pretty heavy loaded up.

    Any reason for positioning the speakers that way as far as sound goes? I like the look and it probably saves a couple inches of width as opposed to having them side by side.

  • @TelepathicTraffic

    @TelepathicTraffic

    It's basically the exact dimensions, layout and matrials as an Orange PPC 2X12. So, yes it ends up being a couple of inches less wide and bit more tall. Personally I think it looks better a bit taller like that with the amp head on top. Cheers.

    EvanWLemire As far as sound, I don't think width vs length is going to make much of an impact as it's an open back. I might suggest a convertible back if you are going to make one though.

    Looks great! But next try a circle router jig(jasper 200J model 200) that way you can cut the speaker holes to what the speaker manufacture says. but no big deal it will get cover up but the grill cloth anyways

    +Alvin s 1/2" roundover if your using 3/4 board. also almost all corner protectors are set up for 1/2" roundover

  • @TelepathicTraffic

    +Alan L 1/2" is what I used. 3/4" would have probably been ok as well. Check with the corner pieces on a test edge to tell for sure. The tolex does add slight thickness.

    What's the differencd if you drill all the pieces of wood together instead of glueing them?

  • @TelepathicTraffic

    @TelepathicTraffic

    8 жыл бұрын

    You can screw them as well, gluing them is a better bond. I was attempting to build it like a quality manufacturer would.

    Need to run the wires paralell to get the ohmge u want. wirimg series is speaker 1 ohmsage plus speaker 2 ohmage = the ohmage of your cab PARALELL. (Speaker A x Speaker B)/(Speaker A plus Speaker B) = ohmage of cab
