I could see her having real issues with it if he were feminine before his transition but he said he's always been masculine so I don't see her issue. In sure the hormones do change him some as in more male features, deeper voice and facial hair but he is still the same person at heart. Him getting new friends in the trans community is helping him understand his transition better.

I'm Lesbian & in college similar thing happened when my partner randomly decided she was "Butch" & years later has now become a full grown TransMan. When she shared the news..I respected her but we broke up...cuz that's NOT what I signed up for I'm very clearly not into masculinity & knew i'd always crave femme intimacy. It's best to find a compatible partner. True Lesbians aren't into men. As for this case. If one is the "same person they were before"...then there'd be no reason to transition & they wouldn't be in this predicament. Already showing toxic male arrogance.. " I used to scream, cry, yell..When I started taking testosterone I don't even take the time out to do that". As if men aren't super emotional.

They don't need to be married on the strength that they can't agree on whether they want an open or closed relationship.

This is an extremely, extremely unhealthy situation. Put your views aside from how you feel about LGBT issues, you have a woman who clearly hasn't accepted the fact that the other woman is trying to transition into being a man. They keep having other people around in their relationship and now they are talking about getting married? This relationship is unstable, confusing and does not sound like it's good for either party. Then I wonder why should the other woman getting counseling dealing with the transition? She clearly doesn't like it so shouldn't she just be allowed to move on as opposed to trying to convince her to like a woman that is trying to become a man? The advice this "expert" gave is terrible advice. She needs to decide if she is even attract to men, which it doesn't seem like she is. How ironic is it that she is being told to get therapy, but if someone was gay, modern society would not condone that person getting therapy to become straight.

He seems like someone I would keep as a friend at least after ten years. Everyone getting counselling is a very good idea, no matter what happens.

I understand that some people feel they need to transition. What I don't understand is why they try to stay in a relationship. The other person is also going through hell, but the person transitioning seems to become very centered on their own feelings. And when there are children involved, it really trips me out.

You are never the "same person" when you are taking steps to alter your appearance drastically..that's just impossible!

Idk, but Ms. Mason gave me selfish vibes at times. I get that its a transition, but it just feels like she's not really "trying" to acknowledge the pronoun situation. Also, I do agree that this should've been discussed, as it would impact her, as well.

When you say "intelligently evolved" and misspell "guess" you don't sound like the intellectual, Stanley. Also, "It's (current year/century)" is not an argument. No one said they were intimidated. They just acknowledge their own biology. That's more intellectual than "It's the 21st century and those of us who are intelligently evolved can be anything we say we are."

Yeah this is not about her transitioning they have huge trust issues and do not even respect each other. As she changing into a man she developing those male tendency. They both need to go separate ways and be single to mingle.

How she said she used be emotional and now that she taking hormones she do not care as much. I know that all woman are not emotional but most are and most Men you can not get them to share emotion without beating it out them damn near that is what I mean.

Ive only just started this episode and honestly I’m not a fan of the trans man assuming that his lesbian girlfriend (key word LESBIAN) would ultimately be ok with him being a man. Yes there is loving the person but what brought you to the person In the first place is how they look and feel, there’s a certain physical connection that’s lost and the sad thing is, i see both sides. I think the healthiest thing is for them to break up and find happiness elsewhere tbh. They both need to find people they love in their entirety Edit.....ooooooo the lesbian is dirty mehhhnnnnn she’s actually horrible. I’m sorry but you can’t attack the man for growing distant when you literally have outside relationships and stop him from being free to explore himself. That’s so damn selfish and disgusting. He needs to leave her and find someone that accepts him. I genuinely think the reason he is afraid is because he probably feels like no one will accept him

She met a woman, got into a relationship with a woman and after 10 years her girlfriend decided to change the game. I could understand her viewpoint that's a different way of life.

I don't get that information on news as much as I get it on Divorce Court , how this world is fucked and messed up !

Ok I can see both sides. He wants to be referred to as him & finally is ready to transition and be his true self. Everything he was as a woman he's still going to be as a man dum dum lol...I get her side tho because it's been a year, you have to give someone time to come to grips with the idea...lord let me never have to deal with this conversation cause it's just a big ass headache! Lol

I hope they can work it out. They seem to love one another in a somewhat confusion way, but for 10 years they must have something making them strong together. I might worry that the FTM underestimates his partner being a lesbian. Clearly one love a person for the personality (hopefully), but underestimating the power of sexual attraction could destroy the love. Being in a relationship without sex or with sex with someone out of a sense of "I have to do this" is incredibly destructive. I wish them the best and hope they'll figure it out and stay happy together. Maybe even just the two of them....

This may sound harsh but if I were going to transition in to a man and my partner were a lesbian then I'm sorry but on some level I'd have to expect them to not be physically attracted to me.

Tbh its wonderful he has transitioned and become who he really is. I understand where he is coming from with her loving who he is on the inside. However, I feel like he should be understanding if she doesn't want to be with him because he is a man. You can't change anyone's sexual orientation and she can support him without being with him. I think she needs to learn to respect him and his pronouns and he needs to be a little more understanding if she doesn't want to be with a man.

and some how this is normal to yall? but when rachel dozal whatever her name is wants to referred to as a black women we all calling her crazy.....this society is twisted and ass backwards!

This issues is more of attraction. Tabitha is a lesbian, and that means she wants a woman, not a man. When the situation started Payton was a woman and now that he has transitioned into male, what’s the point of being in a lesbian relationship . I get her point. On the same token, Payton has always wanted to be a man and that his right. Neither one of them should say, “This is what I want and you should accept it.” They need to just weather the course and get counseling and I think it will be ok. Much success to both of them.

Peyton believes since they have been together 10+ years Tabitha should be okay with him transitioning because he’s still the person he was before. Although Peyton’s point is valid, Tabitha is a lesbian. As a lesbian as well, I actually truly do not find men attractive in the slightest. I do not want to date or have sexual relations with one, So I understand why Tabitha is hesitant with jumping on board and why it’s so hard for her. Peyton is who he is, & Tabitha just has to decide if she still wants all that now comes with Peyton. I tell you one thing if they do work through this together they will need to take others out the mix for a bit to truly feel for each other during the transition.

You might be the same person but your personality changes. Your hormones transition with your gender change. Your outlook and emotional intelligence changes. She would have to relearn to love or relate to the new personality.

I don’t know, me personally if my husband turned into a female obviously it would be tough, and I know I have not gone through it but I am very connected to my husband. I feel like it would be the same soul (that I love regardless of his sex if he is missin a leg whatever the case may be) inside his body. Just like he said “I’m the same person it’s just a different shell”. I think I would learn to love him no matter what because he is my partner.

I couldn't finish this one. It irked me that the judge had NO problem whatsoever referring to him as his preferred pronouns, but the woman he'd been with for 10 years wasn't even making an effort to try.

Judge To,der JUST met the man, so of course she'd have no problem with it! It's hard to constantly call the person SHE, SHE SHE, SHE then suddenly being demanded to call them he, that's TEN YEARS worth of conditioning, you can't just immediately break thqt

I thought the girl to our right was the most beautiful girl I've seen.... until her cheating shed to light. She seems extremely selfish and immature...but anyway, just like a woman's husband suddenly turns into a woman, I get it.

This is definitely something difficult and should be discussed. My cousin and her now husband went through this. While the transition was happening he allowed her to have sex with other women because he understood she married a woman and not man. And that she was going to desire and with a woman. She’s gotten used to it now and their doing great but it’s definitely not easy to hear your partner is changing their sex and you’re not aware.

THAT SISTABROTHA SMOOTH WITH IT..

Peyton seems like a very stand up guy hopefully everything works out for the better.
