Being a parent is terrifying. Amazing mother.
i really FELT that hug she gave her boy. He WAS almost gone forever, from her grasp.. the little boy she gave birth to and nurtured into adulthood. I"m so glad he's still here with us. It wasn't his time to go.

He should make sure to charge his watch at full battery before going out to the sea and bring an airtag for extra lol. Just not sure tho if it will survive the depth that he is diving.

No need to quit, glad he will keep diving. Hopefully with some safety gear and better people.
Without conscious effort, from unconsciously knowing the frequency of his grandfather's boat, people with this much true love & respect for the sea, were given their son back by the sea, their love of ocean & each other. Sappy? Sure. True? The truest. As an indigenous woman and free diver, I wonder how many divers laughed at anchor saying, he held his breath for two minutes. TWO minutes.😂Dive on. Dive on. Dive on.

I know very little about diving but could you carry more safety equipment. Small flair gun, laser light, or a signal light or a radio in a small bag. Or is this a dumb idea?
Many comments about "the facebook friends" leaving him to die. I don't believe that was the situation. I agree the people on the boat probably did not call the Coast Guard and they did go to shore without him. They probably looked for him for an hour or more and when they could not find him made the decision to go to shore for help, which in my opinion was definitely wrong. They should have made calls from where they were. Best would be to get on channel 16 on the radio for a mayday call and also cell phones 911. Either one would have gotten the Coast Guard involved. And I do not blame the kid that was lost to say "they just left". Because to him...they did. And being a smart experienced diver as he is believes they made the wrong decision. Can't punish the captain or the friends for a bad decision. They probably believed it was best to go to shore to get help.
