In digital anything beyond 1 song isn't a single. So technically its 2 tracks, Then in the naming conventions you will need to add select "add version info"

Does distrokid release compete with putting your tracks on bandcamp? If you have a song on spotify before its distributed does that count as previous release? Thanks for vid

Bandcamp is a totally separate thing. If you want your music easily accessible the DistroKid gets it on the major platforms. If it’s on Spotify then yes it’s been released.

Hi, helpful video , thank You. I read a lot about distrokid and about not linking yt channel to it so my question is: If I uploaded a song to yt separetly and then I want to upload it to spotify etc. do I have to mark the " preavosuly realased"?

Nah. Be fine. As it’s not a release with an ISRC and history to connect to. An yeah for now avoid the YT connection. Mines been messed up since 2020 an YT literally are doing nothing about it.

I use DistroKid an have since 2015. Beatstars looks to be pretty much the same and reputable (I had a beatstars pro account from 2015 -17) Soundcloud looks terrible value. Heres a distrokid discount if you go that route - distrokid.com/vip/unders

Nah. You can totally upload yourself. You just won’t have a separate “music channel” mine is honestly useless. All my traffic is here.

Its probably because custom label releases are on the musician plus plan. Ive never noticed it personally.

So do you need to register to PRS as well or not?

Distribution royalties and performance royalties are different things. Along with mechanical right. PRS & MCPS websites are what to read. Because the answer will depend on what you’re doing.

@@iamSEARY Streaming Royalties are like small payments to artists when you listen to their songs on platforms like Spotify. Performance Royalties are earned when songs are played in public, and they reward the songwriters and composers. 
 Mechanical Royalties are paid to songwriters and composers when their music is reproduced or "mechanically" copied. This includes when their music is sold as physical copies (like CDs or vinyl) or when it is downloaded or streamed digitally. These royalties compensate the creators for the right to reproduce their musical compositions. So maybe you don’t need PRS, but if you’re producing and a track goes on radio etc maybe you want to retain a % of that 🤷‍♂️ My best earning track ever flopped on streaming. But was using in a gym chain as part of their sessions for like 18 months. They had to have a PRS license and report music played 👍 I’ve never again earned as well as that track being played 4X a day in 60 gyms across the UK.

What about releasing both a atmos file and stereo file. How does that all work
