Now that's a good reason to kill the critter. To FEED something. I think killing for fun is sick. But for feeding someone or some other animal, killing, especially vermin animals, it is appropriate. To kill it very quickly for vermin removal is ok. But not for FUN. Ew.

This was an adorable trap. Thats make me let them go instead of Killing them.

great idea, totally humane and what really sealed the deal was you set the rat free away from your home, they are just creatures trying to survive like us and it's nice to see you don't kill them.

yh and its also a fact. why will it stay outside when your house has an unlimited amount of food and warmth. the parasites on his body will go on you and will make you sick. I honestly hate killing animals, but if its for my safety then i have no choice, and rats wont come back if they know a rat has died here

I made few of those last year. These work pretty well! Once you'll catch the rat, you'll just throw the entire thing into your fireplace and problem solved!

I know right. I know that it might come back but I don't see the point of killing it.

Rat "hmmm, what's this? Looks suspicious. Run away. I do like peanuts though. Could be a trap. I'll just take a quick look. Get out, get out. Ok, maybe just one more bite. Crap. I knew it!"

Bloody clever pal...

The biggest weak point is the straw. If the rat/mouse starts chewing on either end of it the trap will start to fall apart. It might not be able to puncture a hole around the sides or top with it's claws or teeth, but with the opening the straw leaves it will give it plenty of room to hack and nibble. It would work pretty well for a few minutes, though. To use it, you'd have to be around and probably have some kind of alarm for when it gets sprung like a bell on one end of the straw.

I'm not convinced a rat couldn't get out of that wafer thin cup. Especially if it's tail got caught in the trap it would have a perfect gap to begin gnawing away!

who else watched with their pat rat on their shoulder? loved this video, very humane way to get the unwanted critters out of your house. i despise traps that inhumanely kill these creatures. however, if the rat / mouse has rabies, then hell yeah, get an antique mouse trap or whatever. but there's only a slight chance that the critter would be rabid, so this trap is definitely the best in my perspective.
