My dad had a friend who got his hands on his dads pistol. They were hanging at the park and the guy took it out and was spinning it around on his finger, just like that. 10 seconds later and he wasnt doing anything anymore, and he never did again. Dont do this with firearms kids they ARENT toys even if they look like one If another person in this comment section calls this a toy I'll lose my shit. Something that can fire a projectile regardless of that projectile can be dangerous. It needs to be used responsibly. If it can pop a balloon, it can pop other things. Stop being stupid.

Another thought - it could be the shell release mechanism to eject the casing newer bullets and guns have weird components like that in them that’s why half of them are shitty and jam before you could ever get to fire one shot and it tends to happen when you need it to fire the most!
