I can't lie, Figaro is pretty cool. But a solo career was a huge stretch. Yes Disney really gave Geppetto's cat his own series of cartoons. He was the first character besides Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto, to get top billing. Minnie never even sniffed a solo role at all! Also it's funny how Figaro appeared as Geppetto's pet ONCE, then immediately became Minnie's cat. Idk I think he's more Minnie's pet now.
Shoutout to House of Mouse which showed Figaro as Minnie AND Geppetto's pet. Like he switched between episodes lol. GOAT show
In the end they only made three shorts. They weren't BAD, but not very GOOD either. Decent I guess. Figaro and Frankie slapped for me tho
This wasn't the last time Disney tried to spinoff a supporting character into a star. They tried it again with Chip 'n Dale as soon as Figaro's series ended.
