Disko Bay Tour by Boat Is a Must-Do Activity in Greenland
Join us as we take an evening boat ride around Disko Bay, Greenland to see the beautiful icebergs during the midnight sun. More than 40 million tonnes of ice flow into the fjord 24 hours a day. The icebergs are so beautiful when the sunshine hits the icebergs and makes them glow in the evening sunshine. Ilulissat Icefjord and the surrounding area is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Join us for a second boat ride as we take you on a full day trip up North to Eqi Glacier. On the way we ride by two small villages and a frozen waterfall. Eqi Glacier is one of the most active glaciers in Greenland.

Wow what a cool experience! It's amazing how the ship breaks through the ice. The stunning views of those ice sheets are amazing. Only the freshest of ice for a good cocktail. What a fun video.

This looks amazing. :-) Thanks for sharing. What month were you there? And how cold was it during the trip? I go there mid of July.

We went the end of May and beginning of June. The temperature was about 20 degrees to 40 degrees. It is a dry cold.
Great video! I just got back from there and recognize Magnus who's mixing your drinks :). Disko bay looks nothing like your video or the other videos I've seen. Right now there are a bunch of really big icebergs, but none of the smaller chunks that you guys were going through. I assume it will look more like what you saw as the weather warms up and pieces start breaking off from the bigger icebergs?

Thank you. We were there in May so it was starting to warm up. The massive icebergs would be really neat to see also.
That really must have been an eye-opening experience!! The silence across the frozen tundra must be pretty mesmerizing too! I'm forever healous of your experiences!!

Thanks. We fly into Kangerlussuaq and explored the city for a few days and then flew to Ilulissat.
That such a wonderful activity to explore in Greenland. Passing by the glaciar itself is such a cool experience in this wonder land. I can imagine how much freezing weather it would be and you guys managed it do well😊😊

We definitely have learned to dress warm. The icebergs and glaciers are amazing and so beautiful to see.
Looks beautiful. Definitely can't wait to do a similar trip myself. Wanted to go during northern lights season and I am struggling to find cruises during that time.

Because the ice freezes over there aren’t really any boats in the winter. You can’t even do a boat tour. You will have to fly in from Copenhagen. It is doable for sure it just takes a lot of coordinating. I would love to be there for the northern lights. I think early spring or late fall will be nice so you actually get some daylight. In the winter they’re really into dogsledding and snowmobiling, which would be really fun to do.
Hello. I am visiting Greenland next year, Is it easy to organise boat trips when you arrive in Nuuk and Ilulissat or is it better to reserve before you arrive? Thank you for your attention.
@TravelingAtoZ

I reserved them beforehand. I like to be prepared. You can book them when you get there also. Most of the boat rides still had space when we went.

We did the icefiord cruise with disko line explorer. All of the tours we did in Ilulissat was with this tour company. They were great. diskolineexplorer.com
I am planning a Greenland trip and one of the important decisions is the timing. What exact dates was the trip in this video?

May 25th through June 4th. The main tourist season starts closer to the middle of June. We were fortunate to be able to do pretty much everything we want to do without the crowds.

We went with: Disko line by Topas Travel. It was awesome. They also do a lot of other tours. It was amazing. I think any of the boat companies would be good.
